    1968 Head Casting Numbers

Well I think my answer was meant to convey that its not impossible. I agree its unlikely that those heads are stock. I just worked there, so if you have information that says they ordered each piece part on each car and waited for delievery on each order, and tracked each one for each piece...

    1968 Head Casting Numbers

One of my jobs as an engine engineer was to respond to customer problems that cropped up in the field that could not be solved at a lower level. I can tell you that while everyone likes to think the factory doesnt make substitutions or replacements, it happened, and it happened in some weird...

    1968 vacuum advance

Yeah I guess my eyes arent what they used to be, I am so used to looking at 2100's and 4100's I thought I was looking at something else.

    1968 vacuum advance

Yeah nice except that carb is not a 2100. Looks like an early Holley 2 barrel.

    1968 Head Casting Numbers

Yeah I pretty much rode the 390/360 into the ground at Ford as I think I was the Last calibration engineer for the 390 in light trucks. By that time the old casting patterns were getting pretty worn and even though it was a pretty good motor, they werent going to make new patterns so it was...

    1968 Head Casting Numbers

The 14 bolt head was a head utilizing the exhaust manifold for unibody cars. Came in Mustangs and fairlanes/Cyclones. Other then that there isnt a lot of difference in FE heads as far as valve size. There is scant difference in chambers(some). Some bigger valves were used on Later 428 motors...

. anyone know what this is????

Well it might be, you cant tell from the photo whether the cooling water might be used for cooling the bearings on the blower or cooling the air or both, I dunno. Its funny that you see these things we tend to think of as modern contrivances on older cars. The Lemay Museum has a 1929 Pierce...

. anyone know what this is????

Well I am not an expert on it Jbart ( just seen one or two before) but its belt driven from below and its a centrifugal blower ,, the water I suppose is for cooling. I dont think there are too many of those around, but superchargers are not new, been used since the 20's. This one is smaller then...

    1968 Oil pressure ???

I guess I will weigh in too ,,,, lol. The shop is there to sell parts and pieces and labor, so they seldom tell you your motor is fine. I wish you had taken a pic of the main bearing because it sounds as if it had worn thru the babbit, thats a bad sign but it probably means failure is still...

1968 She won 1st place at Roundup!

Omigosh, I left too early!! You won first place !!!! HA hahahaha. We both had 68 Cal Specials but they put us in different classes and then parked us both out of our class areas,,,, so I guess it worked to our advantage huh ,,,lol. Thats great,,,congrats Amy. She had such a story on her car...

    2007+ how many miles?

Well see its just your opinion that the 08 looks pretty and the 68 doesnt. To me I love the vintage mustangs. The newer ones all look the same to me ,,,, like stamped out with a cookie cutter. I mean not bad ,,,, but just dont have the cache of the old ones. Put miles on that 08 cookie Amy...

. anyone know what this is????

Yeah it looks like a chrome version of the McCulloch supercharger for flatheads bolted to an almquist dual single manifold. I mean its pretty cool, looks like stromberg 97's atop all that. The blower is belt driven there below all that.
