    1968 Kind of a new owner ...

I managed to be injured darn near every spring around the time of the Dez 100 so I always had an excuse not to go :D It never sounded fun to me either. I like hare scrambles and MX, not flying blind through dust clouds and barbed wire. Anyway I get sidetracked on bikes pretty easily. We can...

My dad raced a Husky 400 "back in the day." He used to tell stories about the Desert 100 when it was still at Mattawa. I think there might be a YZ490 sitting around somewhere, and he bought a TW200 for my mom, who has never even sat on it. My first bike with a clutch was a TS250 that my younger...

Yep, still mixing my gas too. Way more fun factor that way. I started on a beat up old XR, never wanted another thumper after that. I'm lucky to work for a motorcycle dealer--in fact, my desk is up in our "museum" of old bikes, so I have lots of eye candy.

We actually have quite a stable ... herd? ... I had a Jeep when I met my husband, and so did he, so now we have two. (no question of selling one) He also had a 96 Impreza for a nice little DD that has 230k on the clock, which still runs awesome. We are thinking about getting a pickup because...

I would totally take you up on that but I'm in CO now! Thanks for the info. I was definitely thinking about a 5 spd. I remember my hot rodding buddies used to pull the 5 spd out of 80s turbo T-birds and Fox-body Mustangs, which was a T5, IIRC? Was that also a BW trans? Is it an easy swap? I...

hehe, just about as fast as I can spend money I don't have yet! I want to make her stick to the road better first. Then make her faster. I've been driving a 4 cylinder Jeep on 33" tires for the last 5 years--the Mustang right now is pretty freakin fast to me. But a 5 spd would be nice. can...

Cool! I have an EXC 200 that's been put through the wringer and back. Parents actually lived near Wenatchee. My grandparents were from Carnation, my inlaws are in Snohomish, and I've lived in Spokane and Ellensburg as well. I like the NW but I like it here in CO too. I will definitely...

That's all I know of the story unfortunately. Somebody must have tipped a cherrypicker or maybe a ceiling hoist let go? There's a dent on each side of the roof line, just about centered over the window, but bigger on the driver's side.

    1968 Purists don't look

Mine came with those pieces, the guy was going to do that ... I am thinking I might save them for a 68 convertible instead.

Well ... I was told it's got a hi po 289, but unless someone replaced it, that should be a 302 if it's the original block, right? I haven't started to clean it up and look for tags/casting numbers yet. Either way, it's been built--I remember that the local engine guru in my home town (did a lot...

My mom bought a GT/CS in 1980 and it has been sitting around ever since ... now she finally allowed me to bring it home to give it some TLC and road time. I'd say its in "fair" condition, and modified a bit for performance. After sitting undriven for at least a year it made the trip from WA to...
