    Wanted Need Various Parts

Arlie, I think I can fix you up with the Lucas pedestals. I have the support washers and the hex to make a nut. The support itself is a pipe that can be manufactured. I have the taps and dies to produce the proper threads for the studs in the lights themselves. I am pretty sure I have access...

1968 Little Red at Barrett Jackson

Thanks for the link. I had a Paxton on my first Mustang! It really "boosted" the power. Cool story! Obviously the father of the GT/CS. Glad it did not get crushed. Got to the correct hands to restore and preserve the legend! Rob

    For Sale Modified GT/CS

I sold my GNS/GT/CS for $35k and it had a lot more high performance stuff than this car. As said earlier the quality of the modifications really count. I also believe that restomodded cars can sell at prices similar or even more than full concurs cars. The owner of my car has beat the snot...

    1968 Motor Rebuild

In most cases in a high performance build an MSD dizzy with no vacuum advance is best. They are easy to change the centrifugal curve in and set up for your engine. If they changed the dizzy gear that does not necessarily mean they rebuilt it. If you have a roller cam they had to change to a...

1968 repairing rear quarter panel on 1968 gt/cs

I did a right rear quarter panel replacement on GT/CS in around 1990. I also replaced the trunk extension panel that it attaches to. Replaced the full quarter panel on the left side and also its trunk extension panel. The lower quarter panel replacement piece is not perfect. I got mine from...

    1968 Engine update

Oil in those cavities is very normal. Nothing to worry about. One thing a lot of people do not do is properly torque the intake manifold and do not follow up after the first few runs to retorque. After a few runs you should retorque/retighten every nut and bolt you can get to. Rob

    . Triple "B's" Garage

Hello from Triple B's garage, Dan Jackson's (calsplc) has sold his GT/CS 390 4 speed, and purchased a 68 Shelby GT-350. He felt it was a bit "anemic" after his big block, so he opened up his wallet and we are on our way. Balanced 302 block with Trick flow 53 cc combustion chamber heads. Comp...

    1968 Motor Rebuild

I hate to say that unless you have someone work with the centrifugal advance curve and eliminate the dual diaphragm vacuum advance on your stock distributor you will lose horsepower and possibly have pinging problems. I can step through some thoughts if you wish. Rob

    1968 Real Deal or Clone?

A stock 250 six shooter will amaze you with the power its has. A 4 or 5 speed manual would make it a cool driver. You say the 250 is rebuilt, so I would bolt that bad boy up! It will be a hoot to drive even with the C4. Little money to do this and a great car to drive or sell. Rob

    1968 Real Deal or Clone?

I think I would finish the V8 conversion on the 67. It will sell for more if it runs and drives well. Real GT/CS cars come up for sale all the time. I bet you could get a nice driver for $18k to $20k easily. You will require a close up inspection of the car by an experienced person if you...

    1968 Help with drum brakes

I would advise pulling the axels. You will need a "slide hammer" that attaches to the axle on three lug studs. This way you can replace the axle seals and change the oil in the rear end. Leaking seals will ruin your brake shoes. Once out you can hang the axle flange on a hard surface and...

    1968 low vaccum

Please let me know the cam specs. Eight inches at idle is way less than a mild cam should deliver. I think you have some other issues other than the cam. Timing or fuel delivery problems. We need more info. What dizzy and what is your initial timing? I think we can sort this out. Rob
