Hi Ray thanks for some additional support of this. With all the pictures of cars in magazines with the CAUTION decal they will not go away soon :( Yes the Cougar guys got allot uglier than what I've seen elsewhere As for the "FRONT" decal I've got pictures back to at least 65 of original cars...

    Paint Questions What's correct for...

PPG is great stuff and have used it for years Unfortunately we can't get PPG or any other non-rattle can paints in single stage anymore in allot of areas of Calif. So using it, locally, is not an option for the interior color. Kryon is ok for the driver but does not hold up well in the long run...

    Complete Interior?

What interior do you have? Some types of material is not available (correctly done) for these kits so it may make a difference. Also there are only one or two suppliers of the kits though all shops carry one or the other. So you might want to ask the group which maker they used and were they...

When is gone GONE for a car

Believe that there are many places that stamp them though the blank tags could all be coming from the same supplier. Not very expensive. Kevin Marti is also a licensed provider of the stamped tags (not sure where is purchases the blank). When you choose a shop to provide these for you care...

    Door window seals

Supplier is not really as important as the business that makes the part (shops are normally just the middle man) I like (if you can't get NOS) Repop (s?) seals find that they are superior to other reproductions at this time

FOG LAMP HARNESS to MAIN HARNESS SPLICING CONNECTORS

Undercarriages had a little or allot of overspray from the exterior color application. Just depended on the painter, how far down he held the gun that car, and so on. Same case with the pinch weld black out. Seen it were is was barely there and other times were there was more of it than exterior...

When is gone GONE for a car

Not legally. From my understanding Kevin use to provide that service but after some problems with a person or two he was told no more or Ford would cut him off from all access. Sure someone out there can do it ... but lots of federal laws that can be to prosecute whomever dose

questions on my newly purchased CS

MCA does not require paint and inspector marks but will deduct for incorrect ones. Often there is allot of pressure to add as many as possible or what you see in magazines or at shows. When this is done owners have no way to tell if the make they see came from that car and often do not consider...

    Roof Insulation in Mustang

Believe that there was asbestos added to the mixture to improve insulation qualities. If you notice if exposed to heavy sun light for a long time it will often turn a white color from the original blackish color. No big surprise given the period when the acr were assemblied "Originally Posted...

questions on my newly purchased CS

Why we're discussing Jackson (one of many paint inspectors at San Jose during 68-69) here is a picture of from one of the days when he was workign on the line, rather than the area where they painted the parts off the car Careful anyone attempting to make a stamp of this - the stamp uses at...

questions on my newly purchased CS

The last name style of inspection stamp (except for one inspector) was started during 68 production intermixed with the earlier style of identifying them by their number. I'll email you as I have a large collection of this sort of detail but people are always looking to support what is found...

Went to visit the restoration shop where GT/CS will be restored

A pretty quick and fairly easy way to check or at least get an idea is to ask them what seams on the undercarriage get chalked ;) Most shops from my experience will describe a 68 NJ car since so many are featured (Shelbys) in magazines

    Deck lid paint mark

Talan423 Your idea #1 seems to best fit what we've been thinking and what other workers have explained. we had a number of workers use the use of a visible "X" with no related tightening or filling need (white in color), that they used when the line stopped and every took a break ... except...
