    1968 Engine bay decals

Have 3 versions of the shock tower service sticker, and 3 or 4 of the emissions one on the valve cover w/different numbers. Anyone got a clear photo of the correct type for each location?

    1968 Small Block Valve Covers

Were some plain and some with the Power By Ford script? 289 vs 302 thing, plant variation or??? Looking at a set of supposedly original '68s here, but are plain. The ones on my GTCS, which I assumed were original as the engine is VIN stamped and has all date correct castings, have the PBF...

    1968 Stripe location

Getting ready to apply them and had then lined up by eye, then looked at the number in the book and quite different. Ran a mockup with the numbers shown and the stripes looked a bit "off"... mostly the very front one. Anyone got opinions on the values shown in "the book"? or compared them...

    1968 Rocker fuel line clamps

Have seen both a screw/bolt style and the spring clip used on the fuel line just under the front edge of the door by the torque box. Which is correct? Late April build, if it matters...

1968 Exhaust system bending my brain...

Needed to replace the original single exhaust on the C code. Had a "spare" 2" dual exhaust setup from the H pipe back left over from the 390's so figure why not, just buy an H pipe and slap it on as from the H pipe back it is all the same. the duals won't do much for the C code but will work...

1968 Rear 1/4 panel emblem mounting

I believe the California Special scripts did not use barrel nuts, just flat rectangular press on spring clips (3/32") to retain them to the panel. The late style reflectors used a stamped flange nut, gold-ish finish with black sealer. Similar to the below. Correct?

    1968 Headlight Relay Install

A moderately simple and "zero drill/cut" way to install Rocketman Innovations plug-and-play relays. Used a short piece of perforated steel strap. Bolted it to the relays. Bent to fit under the valence (dropped the valence for easy access) and mounts to the existing grille trim and grille...

1968 PS Pump Return Line Clamp

Have seen both the screw style and the crimped in place type. Which style is considered correct for the GTCS? (289, C code, Late April build date) FAM calls out 97201 (no reference I can find) and 97237 (screwed banded clamp, no slot). Many refs (web search) show a slotted band, similar to...

1968 C Code - Spark Plug Wire Bracket

Does anyone have a photo of the correct install of the extension that screws to the tab on the valve cover? C code, late April '68 build date. I think it faces forward, but am not sure, and I am unsure if there is a defined correct installation, as to which side of the tab on the valve cover...

1968 The never ending "paint job"...

Engine rebuilt did the transmission too... good day today getting both back in the car. Put the engine in first on its own, took me 20 minutes. A friend came over later and helped me slide the c4 under the car and we used a floor jack to get it in place. A couple bolts from the engine stand to...

    1968 289 Piston recommendation

Doing a full rebuild of the C code. Need new pistons and am coming to the US so will get a set there (right now you can't find a set of 0.030 over for a 289 anywhere in Australia, some shipping strike/issue) Going to be a very stock build. Crane 260-H-2 cam, very close to OEM spec, original...

    1968 289 engine detail

Anyone seen lift brackets/lugs on a '68 289? Getting different views on other forums as to if they were used or not... as I have the engine out for rebuild and a pair of them is kicking around was thinking of adding them, but am unsure if they were used on the '68 Mustangs. Brackets/lugs...

    1968 C4 Vacuum Modulator

As the engine had to come out for repair took the opportunity to rebuild the C4. A pretty easy weekend job, once you find all the parts! I have two vacuum modulators. One with a green stripe marked K-12-4 and one with a white stripe marked K-12-14. Other than that they appear identical...

    1968 Cam for a C code

What cam would be a good replacement? Engine is apart for some needed work, and going to put in a new cam while its apart. It is a C code GTCS, and is staying one, Autlite 2100, stock exh manifolds, OEM CI heads and intake. Hydraulic lifters and stock heads/valves. Zero interest in...
