    1968 Dash Removal?

I assume that you are going to strip to a shell. In addition to the above I would take a lot of picture as you go also making note as to where screws and other fasteners go. Be carful not to break the wire harness anchors. Good Luck Marty

    1968 Ten Spoke Question

The ten spoke wheels were not used on the 68 Shelby's. In 67 Ford used a Kelsey Hays 4 puck caliper in 68 they changed to a 2 puck design that would rub on the ten spoke wheels. Most were delivered with a special cast hub cap. Many owners then and now like the look of the ten spoke wheels and...

    1968 Ten Spoke Question

I have seen a number of members have the Shelby ten spoke wheels on their Specials. With these reproductions do you need to use a spacer? Or has the back spacing been changed to eliminate the need for a spacer? I have a original Shelby set and they will rub the caliper if a spacer is not used.

1968 Seatbelts - Deluxe or Otherwise

It did in 67 also except it was mounted under the dash. The shoulder belt started as a option in early 68 production, then was standard as stated above. There were also optional shoulder belts for convertibles and rear seat passengers as well.

1968 Vin # on engine block

If you car was delivered with a piece of bailing wire holding the deck lid closed it is ok to restore it that way as long as you have original documentation of the defect. It was Ford's desire to build each car to assembly manual perfection. We all know that did not happen but that is no excuse...

1968 Vin # on engine block

I have reconsidered my earlier statement. I think it was ideally suppose to be the full number but given the rate the cars were being built and the time to preform each task I am certain short cuts were taken and errors were made. 68 was the first year for identifying the engine and transmission...

1968 Vin # on engine block

Same thing on the 68 Shelby I am working on. I do not think it was a error, they just did not use all of the characters.

    1968 Tips on installing stripes...

When we striped the HCS we also found the dimensions in the book to be incorrect. I used the Branda Shelby convertible one and it works very well. It take a little work but you can get them adjusted level. The Drake one is the really hard one.

Richard I would very much like to see your convertible top information, would you post it? I have been working on a test of expanding 67-68 rules and would like to include your information if it is new information.
