1968 HCS Back on the Road

Wow Scott it looks fantastic! I would love to have a close up look. Unrestored cars are so special and a HCS R code unrestored car is crazy special. You should consider showing at the Tucson AZ, MCA national show in May 2017. I would be honored to judge it. Marty

    1968 Another oddity

I would cut a small hole where the dome light would be. Then look in and see if the light reflector, socket and wiring are there. If they are not you will have to remove most of the headliner to install the wiring. FYI to install a headliner correctly you need to remove the windshield and back...

    1968 Another oddity

All cars did not have the upper console brackets. It could have been a mistake on the assembly line but most likely most of it was dealer installed equipment.

    1968 Engine questions (289 2-V AT)

    1968 Engine questions (289 2-V AT)

If it were mine I would just go though it and be done with it. While it is out you can clean up the engine bay. Sure it will cost some $$$ but you will have peace of mind when you are driving it and can be proud to open the hood. Good luck and welcome here. Marty

    1968 Correct power steering pump?

I have not used the rebuilt pump with out the can but I do not think it is difficult. The problem with the remans with can is the can nipple was different shapes for different applications. I believe that you should have one that goes rearward and slightly downward not the 90 degree upward...
