The primer on this decklid looks to be "extrafil". The guys here in the body shop call it "liquid bondo". It's used to cover and smooth fiberglass when the gel coat has been compromised. I'm not sure why the paint is peeled like that. Looks like someone started stripping it with aircraft...

Don't worry Cathy. If your car shows are anything like the ones I attend here, All of the ford purists and "know it alls" will be constantly reminding you about everything thats not correct with your car. They do it to me all the time. It almost makes going to the car shows no fun.

Just keep doing what you are doing bish. Spray a little white lithium grease in them to keep the moisture out. It will keep them from corroding quicker. Nick
