    1968 289 or 302 block

Wow that is a new one on me. Do you know the Casting numbers? and dates. I was told that it did not make sense for Ford to recast the 289 blocks to add the serial number boss on a engine that was going to be discontinued. Thanks for the information. Back to the casting #s.

    1968 289 or 302 block

It is very easy to tell, if you have the flat area ahead of the bell hosing where you have the VIN you have a 302 block. The 289 blocks did not have the flat area for the vin. There was a depression clear across on the 289 block. Hope this helps.

    1968 Ignition Circuit

I learned about the 12V start circuit the hard way when I was installing the battery in this 67 manual transmission. The keys were not in the ignition and it was parked in reverse, the points in the starting solenoid had welded closed. When I attached the battery terminal it cranked and started...

Thanks Scott now it makes sense. I was thinking of a automatic not a manual. I have not seen one but it makes sense that it is there because they are on top of the case on a auto.

    1968 Removing silicone sealant

One year on the way to the Steamboat Springs show we got rained on, sleeted on, fogged on, hailed on, snowed on, and following a cattle truck on the hair pin turns it was spilling you know what so we were pooped on. I was not sure we were meant to go that year. There is crazy weather in the...

    1968 Removing silicone sealant

I was attending a MCA national show a few years back. When I arrived at the host hotel I noticed a gentleman cleaning the undercarriage of his car. Not a unusual sight at a national show. We got moved in to our room and I went out and washed and detailed our 68 when I noticed that the man I saw...

The stripes should end on the hood, the wide grill molding should have argent paint and the grill is not painted correctly.

    1968 brake problem

Take great care removing the old lines. Often the nut is rusted to the line and you will twist off the lines. Then you will be ordering a line set which actually is not a bad idea. If you have no use for your old distribution block and proportion valve I would give you $20 for them provided none...

    1968 brake problem

Did you rebuild your proportion valve? Did the car sit for a long time or was the system left open? You could have rust blockage. We need to know more and what you have done.

    1968 Ten Spoke Question

Thanks, it is my understanding that the back set was changed on the reproductions so they do not need the spacer. I would like to know that for sure before I sell the originals.
