    1968 too many questions

...Understood...But the fact remains you have the real deal that looks decent for the time being with many pleasurable options in hand, be it "rolling restoration" or eventual "rotisserie". Keep the questions coming and with time, any and everything you want to do with this car will fall in...

1968 Could this be a problem?

...On the bright side - you won't need a light to adjust the timing! ;-)

    1968 too many questions

Thanks Marion :-) but I don't know anything that wasn't known here first. I do know some pretty great people since being here! ...and I know you have to be careful what you wish for! If only we could get time to remain still, so we can fit it all in. I also know I've never made as good of a...

    1968 ???- 302 "off the line" acceleration

...My first speeding ticket (January 1977) was in my friend's (mom's) Maverick! I flew to Torrance, CA to meet up w/ him to shoot pictures of trains... I was driving while he was shooting - 90 mph on the way to Barstow! The cop was real mad, but became compassionate and reduced the ticket to...

    1968 ???- 302 "off the line" acceleration

...Sounds like a real sweetheart Dave! My J-code is the same as yours, Flowmasters in all. There are many unseen variables that can set these motors apart which aren't always apparent at first, but that doesn't mean there are flaws, especially with what you're seeing. A high school buddy...

    1968 ???- 302 "off the line" acceleration

...Indeed Rob! My son TJ is among them! Just check out how our driveway resembles an airport runway ;-) and the pine needles along the edge (sans bleach) that give "omnipotence" to a straight six! You and Casey however, have to try as hard NOT to chirp as we "stockers" who try TO.... ;-))

    1968 ???- 302 "off the line" acceleration

...I guess it depends on what you want to achieve. To me - chirping and spinning tires is a huge waste of time. My J code will only do that if I power brake slightly, but when you want to go - it goes! 0-60 times or standing 1/4 mile would be a better measure. Mine has 3:25s and stock...

    . If you're anywhere West...

...Yeah, but ever since Renee got that darned thing, we never get to see her anymore! She has more "car show" invites than Newitt has "book updates"! But don't get me wrong, I understand destiny... Renee is the perfect person to compliment a beautiful car! THAT beautiful car! Rest assured...

...11,000 may not have been "way too much" depending on its condition, but as the others say - please post pictures, VIN and as complete of a description. For upholding its value, best to keep it stock IMO. Otherwise, do what you wish to make it "your" car. Vist: www.martiautoworks.com ...

Thank you Renee and Yes! That GT/CS of yours will be front and center! It (and the type) will also be described to our audience, so don't plan on being too far away from it throughout the day :-) Have PFSlim's book and display signs there too! The flyers you passed out are working! Phone...

    1968 Hot Start Problem

...My 351C does this all the time. Raise the hood after shut down when hot and you can hear it "hissing" at the carb. I sometimes hold the pedal almost full down to get it re-started, but when cold, it fires right up.... I've never heard of "heat soak". Great info! Thanks!!
