    Nasty Storm rolls though calif.

...It hit our area very hard. 'Still no power outside of Grass Valley, lots of trees down and 25+ broken power polls locally. "Round two" is just beginning with heavy snowfall here where I work in Grass Valley. The winds were intense, causing the sides of the building to behave as the roof...

    Future Values............BJ cometh

...I usually do about half the day with the hood down, then come back & raise it later in the day. If it's a Big block car - I'll keep it raised most of the day (with one of Don's die casts sitting on the air cleaner) The 289s & 302s all look the same on polished 65 thru 68s. Thus, I prefer...

'68 GT/CS stripe kits available on ebay

..Shelf life depends upon method of storage and whether or not there were many seasons of temperature changes that could "normalize" them in the rolled up position. I too would be suspect of such a reduced price on something like that unless your satisfaction was guaranteed... As for clear...

'68 GT/CS stripe kits available on ebay

...So true. Many things will rot in a box same as they'll rot on a car that never gets exercised. Old decals and vinyl or tape graphics especially can become "dust" when unrolled after too many years of curing. Good luck with yours, truly!...

    Future Values............BJ cometh

I believe if the CSs at BJ command a higher than market price, we'll see a temporary $pike upward followed by small flooding of the market, then prices drop again as we saw before (Remember the Seafoam Green that lived on e-bay in '06?). As for 10 to 20 years, I think the value will skyrocket...

    Specialty Wheel

...Thanks Don. I hope to find out by Wednesday where mine came from. I didn't want to divert from Arlie's thread as such, but thought it important to mention this occurrence. These old cars develop periodic squeaks & clunks (aside from front suspensions behaving as a berometer;-) that I may...

    Original quarter marker lights??

Rob, I did hear back from the guy who built my clone. He says the quarters were not replaced, but he added as many '68 parts and that the motor was '68... Please remind me where to find the sheet metal codes and I'll try that avenue. This car went to bare metal and emerged as an award winning...

Amen Don ;-) 'Took every measure to guarantee that you had a safe ride with front wheels that would not break loose! The rear wheels were another matter ;-)) I have driven that car most of this week & have been having the time of my life ;-) Unfortunately, it snowed here last night, so I...

...No outer ring and lug nuts appear fine. Happened like this: After a few days of casual driving - 'heard a soft clunking noise on rt. side in left turns. Suspected chaffing on caliper or upper arm - pulled wheel & saw no evidence. 'Inspected an re-adjusted wheel bearings. 'Seemed better for...

...Still investigating these Rich. This car underwent a complete rebuild in '05 & I'm looking over a detailed file of receipts & work orders. Nothing on where the rims came from, so I may call & inquire... They appear as spotless & new as everything else on this car. It's really a beautiful...

How many GT/CS's did you look at before finding the right one?

...I'm always looking, but have acquired five since 2005. My thing is not only to drive and maintain in optimum condition, but to give as many friends and family that classic car (GT/CS) experience that I enjoyed back in the '70s... We range from C code to 4-spd. S code, but NO limits on...

    Original quarter marker lights??

I'll see what I can find out Rob, Thanks! This particular '67 is now cloned as a CS, but they started with a very clean coupe and no quarter replacements. I will contact the original owner/ builder for more info and look at the sheet metal codes as you suggest. 'Seems to me that if it didn't...
