    1968 Car Alarms

I just found this on the Classic Cougar Network website. It shows how to make a hood lock that does not require altering your original sheet metal. http://www.theclassiccougarnetwork.com/tccn2/tech/restomod/restom08/restom08.html I'm throwing this one on my list, should get to it sometime...

Very cool, Did you have to install roll up doors or was your garage deep enough to clear the door?

    1968 Black Hornet Project

I recommend you go with a 5 or 6 speed manual or a 4 speed auto. You'll find your freeway cruising a lot nicer.

    1968 Car Alarms

Thanks all, Sounds like an alarm and a club may be the way to go. Just to make it unfomfortable for the thieves to mess with my stuff. Neil, you don't have a photo of that simple devise that keeps the hood latch from operating do you??

    1968 Car Alarms

I have been considering installing a car alarm on my GT/CS. Hooking the open door sensors to the door light switches and maybe a start interrupt, something simple to keep the stupid thieves at bay. Just curious how many if any of you have alarms on your classic cars.

    Trunk Rods

Yep, the small diameter rods that extend from one hinge to the other. They were both on max tension and only made it easier to raise the lid. I removed the rods from the car and it looks like one of them has given up the ghost. The spring has sprung so to speak. I think my only option is to...

    Trunk Rods

I'm in need of a set of trunk rods. The rods I have no longer hold up my lid. Not even barely. Does anyone have an extra pair lying around I could purchase from them?

    1968 Shop Manuals

Make sure you have a digital camera. If you don't have one get one. Take a bazillion photos from every angle you can think of, top, bottom, under fender wells, under dash, under hood, do this without your Dad watching. When you think you have enough, move them off the camera and then get your...

    . Anyone in Vegas?

Thanks Donna, I wouldn't think of imposing on your Vegas trip. I was thinking more on the lines of someone who lived local. I have a cousin who lives there but she is not "car" minded and I think my colleague was hoping to get an idea if the car is mechanically sound. It's a beautiful car...

    1968 Engine Won't Stop Running!

I bought my starter solenoid from O'reillys. Although the part number is different, it does have the Ford logo and it comes in black. Don't mind the spots, I had to drive it in the rain the other day, those photos really show where you missed cleaning.

1968 Rear license plate light needed

Not sure who said it, but I believe it As far as your car goes, as long as you can keep it without putting yourself and loved ones out on the street, I would keep it. Even if it sits unattended (in a garage hopefully) until you can get back to it, you will find it rewarding. Most of us have...

    1968 GT/CS Value Question

If you plan on doing the work yourself, put your numbers together and then double that. There WILL be lots of little things you never thought about that WILL add up. Ask me how I know.
