From the last AD I have on his car it had the normal flip gas cap.

I would say the previous owner may have painted both. 67 GT wheels are different than 68 GT Wheels. For the flip down gas cap this is something that I am not sure a GT gas cap is correct we have seen both the GT and the normal horse flip down on GT cars. Does your car have Parchment interior?
