Yes, we call it a witness line. It is often lost with careless sanding during a repaint. It can be restored with a little work.

    For Sale 1968 - GT/CS Meadowlark Yellow S Code 390 Auto

I am an MCA gold card judge for 67-68 Mustangs and Shelbys. Reproduction parts are acceptable in concours trailered and concours driven classes provided it accurately preforms fit and function. Many do not.

1968 Front fender marker lights - No gasket to the fender, right?

There is supposed to be 3m black strip calk all around the edge to seal it to the fender. The bulb is a 1178 but not amber, the originals were painted with a school bus yellow paint. Same for the park lights.

    1968 Lucas Lights Seem Dim

It is easy to check the ground. Clip a wire on the negative side of the battery and ground the light housing. If it brightens you have a ground issue.

    1968 Lucas Lights Seem Dim

My best guess is that there is a grounding issue. Have you checked that the bulbs are correct?

1968 Engine painting - Items to be Ford Corporate Blue

I think it is a hole to stake the old-style oil seal in place. I would use one of the new one-piece gaskets. I put one on the HCS this Spring, very easy to do.

I would drill it out then tap it out. Then vacuum what you can get, then turn the oil pump with a drill to flush out any metal. No, you cannot get to anything from the inside of the pan. The aluminum shavings should not hurt anything, but I would try to get all you can out.
