Timely thread. I am having the same problem. I tried drilling, did not work, I think you need a really good bit! I also took off as much of the plastic handle as possible and tried channel locks. Didn't work either. Recommendations would be greatly appreciated! David

For what it is worth, I spoke with someone at NPD today and they said that the one of the reason the company went out of business was that they had problems with the batteries not holding a charge and that the more expensive batteries are higher quality.

Mine is a bit bowed also. I am guessing this is a common issue with the fiberglass. I'd guess that even if you fixed it, it would happen again over time. My trunk lid also has a slight color variation from the rest of the car. Fiberglass vs metal.

My 302 does not have a stamp on the pad. The block date is quite a bit earlier than the build date, and it does have the proper 302 casting numbers.

I know that a 428 and 429 are from different engine families, but how easily is it to tell the difference while in a car? Maybe the engine is not a 429??

Just received the latest issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines magazine. They have been updating their price guides on a montly basis, manufacturer by manufacturer. Last month was GM, this month is Ford. Their values are based upon asking prices in Hemmings Motor News and past auction results...
