1966-67 HCS New Engine on its Way!

Agreed. I'd like to have had the whole band, but that's what they sent. Good thing I have a limited slip differential so I wear the tires somewhat evenly. It's a 3:55, so it won't be too terrible.

Test Sheet Sea level. Standard Navy Day. ;-) The full test sheet is attached. I pulled the numbers into Excel to see the curve.

1966-67 HCS New Engine on its Way!

Hi all, My car has been down for awhile as I awaited a new engine. I had a rebuilt 390 (from a 68 Fairlane) which I reworked 3 times over the last 18 years. The damned thing never stopped smoking. I ordered a new engine built by Carolina Machine Engine. They shipped it to me yesterday, so...

1966-67 HCS brake pedal - manual vs power brakes

The brake lever arm is different on a manual versus automatic transmission (space for 3 pedals versus two). The only difference in the brake foot pad is that it will either be plain rubber (for front drums) or have the "power disc" emblem in it (for front discs). Your detailed Marti report...

    1968 steering column

Concur. And there was a "how to" article in Mustang Monthly a ways back. Perhaps the mechanic mixed terms. You could also send it off to get rebuilt (e.g. http://www.stangerssite.com/GBrebuilding.html -- not an endorsement, just a Google search. Sorry if I violated a forum rule). Cheers...

    1966-67 HCS Intro

More pictures will show a lot of unfamiliar things (satellite radio, fuel injection, rack and pinion steering...). When I bought it, it had a 289 and a small block C-6. I went as far as putting the 390 back in, but at 6'4", I don't think I'd have room to work the clutch. Cheers, -GreenSpark
