Hi all,

I have a friend who recently purchased a fully loaded 2007 Mustang GT (minus the Navigation package). She asked me to install a set of 2007 GT/CS Side Scoops for her. She bought them pre-painted to match the car and they go on with some adhesive tape around the perimeter of the back of the scoop.

For those who may have already fussed with these- Anything that I need to be aware of with regard to installation?

Will post pics after it's done.

Thanks, Jeff

Jeff,

Just make sure you clean the surface with alcohol before you install the side scoops and make sure you press all around the scoop so that the tape sticks well.

I would place additional adhesive (i.e., auto glue epoxy) around the edges just as a safeguard. Have to remember that when you're on the freeway cruising at 65-75 mph, the wind is pushing pressure on the scoop and in time may shear off. I did this with my hood scoop to ensure it would stay on even though it was supplied with 3M auto tape. Just a little insurance.

The Cal Special side scoops come from the factory with tape around the edges. If installed correctly they will not fall off.

Thanks for the info guys.
I was able to get these installed recently. I did clean the car surface with some rubbing alcohol. The double-sided tape was very sticky and I'm confident that they'll stay on the sides of the GT. Will get pics up here soon.
