I need to replace my 2.79 open diff as the innards (ring and pinion, differential, bearings) are completely and utterly destroyed.
So, I'm considering to upgrade to a 3.55 ratio but cannot decide on posi-trac or locker. I am getting different opinions from friends etc. What is the experience from my CS friends?
I'm not a weekend drag racer but want something that is reliable if I get on it now and then. The car has a 302 that has been warmed up a little with a cam, 351 heads, etc and a 3 speed auto C4 with a shift kit. I'm sticking with the 8" rear end.
