Waiting for the rebuilt oem power brake booster to arrive from Booster Dewey this week. Was at caffeine and octane in Atlanta today and talked with a couple of people who seemed to believe that these oem brake boosters fail on a regular basis. One told about his failing twice, resulting in an accident once. Wondering if any of you can verify or refute this. Thanks.

I have had one fail in 19 years of use. It was due to a leaking back seal in the Master cylinder. All ways buy a new one, never had any luck with the remans.

If they were that bad do you think ford would have kept using them with no recall (they recalled the seat hinge pin, this one would seem a bit more of a risk! ;)

12-14 years on the convertible and the only thing that stopped it working was an idiot at a local shop that took it apart and busted the plastic interior bits by forcing it apart... went out working. Sent it in for an "inspection, big mistake, came back in pieces in a box with them noting, "it doesn't work"...
