I thought it would be cool just to post up some pictures from the fall or any time.
My first is from last Saturday, Our club did a Trunk or Treat in Weeping Water. The second is a picture a guy in our club did of our 68 HCS.
I am looking forward to seeing you pictures.
Marty

Marty,
Great pics! Weeping Water looks like such a cool town. A friend of mine just got back from hunting in Wyoming. He fell in love with the small towns and the country. Like turning back time!! Plus he got an elk and a deer.

How big is Weeping Water? Your cars look great! Did you put BBQ in your trunk to attract people? Works for me!!!

Fall photos

These are my son's graduation pics of him and the car back in September. The one of the wheel with the Fingernail Polish painted GT emblem is after 4 summers of road grime and whatever else. Still looks great.

Beautiful car and one fine looking young man!!! Is he into cars and wrenching?

I love my son with all my heart, but he is not a wrenching guy. We have other outlets to enjoy each others company!

He loves cars, especially cars in the 60's and early 70's. Early Mustangs (1965 to 1970) are his favorite. He has tuned up the engine by himself with me looking over his shoulder. This will be his car someday.

You are a lucky man, and your son has a great Dad!! I always like following Tim O'Brien's son, T. J.!! He is another chip off the old block!!

It is not a GT/CS, but the 1972 Kawasaki 500 is coming along. All electrics work!! Yup, tested one spark plug wire with my hand!!! Let go very fast! Been a long since I did that, and hope not to do it again soon!

Exhaust is the final step and then start up and carb balancing and blah blah blah. Might need a chain to make it move?? Tires are original and so is the gas tank and side cover paint. Painted the front and rear fenders.

She is very pretty and will be faster than she is pretty!! My friend took very good care of her, just needed a thorough cleaning and a few parts!

What a beautiful bike in fall colors no less. Rob everything you do looks soooo nice.
I still can not believe that you did not find some way to modify it.

Rob jumped off the deep end and volunteered to breath life back into a 1967 Firebird. It came to me fresh from the paint shop with no brakes, no wiring, an A/C delete started, and a disc brake conversion started. It was a rust bucket before the paint work and the dash and all instruments were rusty as heck. Parts came along in boxes that fit either a Yugo or a John Deere.

A 400 Pontiac and a Cheby 700R4 was sourced for the power. It was in the car but not hooked up to anything. Poor car has went through a few owners and not given a lot of love. My friend bought it and wanted it to be a dependable driver for his wife. It is a mess!

It is starting to take shape. New American Automotive wiring harness is 95 percent done. Brakes are all hooked up with new lines. Engine is being re-gasketed to remove leaks. Overdrive tranny is getting the proper lock up wiring for it to not burn itself up. It will get a March serpentine pulley system and new Ram Air Restorations dual exhaust.

To bad it was a base Firebird in 1967 with a 6 cylinder auto and column shift. Owner will be way under water on this car.

Not sure as a one man operation that I want to tackle this kind of a restoration on a non-Ford platform again. What a learning curve in some areas....

Those came with one of two OHC 6 cylinders, standard 230cu with 1 barrel or with a Sprint version sporting a 4 barrel carburetor.

Wow Rob you are a Ford man that likes a challenge! I have always liked the VW Karmangiea convertible but not enough to go through the learning curve to restore one.
Good luck over on the dark side.

I remember the 4 barrel sprint version from back in the day. Pretty quick. Every aspect of this "restoration" has been a challenge. It came with what looked like a Corvette dual bail master cylinder, but of course the holes for the lines were backwards to the line kit I purchased. If this was a Ford I would have noticed this type of problem immediately.... But not in this case... Lots of head scratching....

The best part is getting to swear at my GM friends. About how screwed up their cars are!!! Amazing all the subtle changes from each year in the GM car line.

...No "deep end" GM worries here, Rob!
My fall/winter restorations have nothing to do with cars at all! ;-)
