Hi Bob,
for your tilt-a-way troubles Jim Osborn Reproductions Inc. makes a repair and diagnostic manual. It has wiring diagrams, trouble shotting etc. It was a great aid in restoring,repairing and understanding these columns. The column also has safety features such as the engine will not start until the column is returned to the straight position and the column will not release with the engine running.
