Hi everyone I just wanted you to know the Reno NV. MCA national is June 3rd-5th. Mike Jewel and I will have our cars entered in the concours trailered class and it would be great to see some of our friends there. I know shows are not what many of you are in to and that is ok just come and enter display only (all other classes are closed by now) or drive up and just spectate. Mike and I would enjoy your fellowship.

See you there?
Marty

Yes I do trailer the 68 HCS. It is a rare car that would be very difficult to replace and to keep it in top show condition I only drive it locally. I am fortunate that I have other cars to drive to shows.
I purchased the HCS in 2009 and have worked in the years since to get it in top show condition, that is why I am trailering it 1500 miles so I can share it with some of you that can appereachate what has been done with it.

I was contemplating flying to Reno, but the $600+ airfare knocked that idea out of my head.
I AM trying to talk myself into driving my Highland Green CS to Myrtle Beach for the MCA show. (Bet there won't be many GT/CS models there.)

Neil that would be great, I would love to see it in person. I think Tom was thinking of bringing his 68 HCS. I do not know of any others yet.
I may be dreaming but I am hoping to drive the 67 Blue Coupe there.
We will see.

There is a group from Mustangs Northwest driving down to Reno.

Sounds like a good time, wish I could make it.

Reno was a nice well run show and Tari and I enjoyed it at the Peppermill casino
It was good to see Mike and Robinett Jewel and their beautiful S code GTCS. Their car won Concours Gold, congrats! There was also a sharp red GTCS from CA. there as well as our HCS. Here are some pictures of their cars and a 67 GT350 Shelby I judged.

Rob here is a better look. Yes I did deduct for it because it was not original to the car.
It must be a blast to drive.

Too bad I didn't know of Rob's interest. I sold a Paxton on E-bay a couple years ago. $500.

Okay.. thats cool.. can that be installed to a factory 289 engine?

Yes, it can be installed on any 289 or 302 engine of the 60's/70's era. With a stock pulley it will produce about 6 pounds of boost at 6,000 rpm. Recommend you go to a 600 CFM Holley to dial it in. It will work with a stock camshaft, but a set of shorty headers, or Tri-Y's, or long tube headers would be very helpful.

Huge power increase when properly dialed in. Get ready for transmission upgrades and a stronger rear end if you drive it hard.

I had one on a basic 289 with an upgraded automatic and 3.80 gears in my first Mustang. I put on a smaller pulley and spun it up to 9 ponds of boost at 6,000 rpm. A local guy with a 72 Camaro and 454 learned all about my tail lights one night at our local quarter mile. He was not happy....

Congrats also goes out to Marty and Tari as their Beautiful HCS also took a Gold Award. I wish I could have seen more of your car Marty, but we were both so busy running around in opposite directions we never were able to hook up just to BS. Two very beautiful Boss 9s made a splash, one Grabber Blue with white interior Boss 9 was my favorite and he drove the car over 2000 miles to the show. That had to be a wild ride. Good for him.
