well,
i can't keep quiet, i am dissapointed in some that seem like they want to poke and prod at Paul Newiitt. i understand that there has been a falling out. i have not met paul, nor have i met those that have the problems with him. i don't really care, it is between you guys. if and when i meet the people involved i will keep my opinions to myself.
the problem i have is those that go to saac and poke and prod at paul, trying to torment a person just because you don't like him. and this is now reflecting badly on all here at cs.com
i have to say i do not approve! paul left and found a place at saac, why can't he be left alone. he is not here, so those people should be happy now.
to post all of the book signing and the stuff about cory's book over at saac just to stir stuff up with paul, well i just don't think that makes cs.com and the people here look very nice at all. and people on the saac site have said so!!!! i feel the need to speak up and say not everyone here at cs.com thinks it is appropriate to go to saac and start fights with paul!!!
cory's book is nice, and paul's taking alot of time with his. well it's paul's book and when it is done it is done. if you want it done quicker, then volunteer, hours of your time and go help him. i figure when paul is done with his book it will be out, i can't wait to see all of the research that he has done. maybe i'll be dissapointed with his book and maybe i won't, but i'll buy it to find out. i sent money in advance but i'm content to wait.

I had no idea that someone had posted all that. I guess they have a right if it is a discussion on GT/CS's though. Does it seem that they are purpously trying to torment him? That's not right.
I don't go to that site and only read what others post on this site from that site.

it is being perceived buy people at saac and descibed as "petty schoolgirl stuff"
some have went as far as to log into saac under an asummed name and continually ask paul about the book and , to me, it looks like they are just trying to torment him.

You make a lot of assumptions in your post. For example, how do you get 'trying to poke & prod at Paul' out of that thread? I thought it was a cool thread with a lot of great photos.

For the record, Paul knew about the book and said, in writing, that he had no problem Corey putting it together.

Why do you bring stuff that happens at SAAC here? Are you just trying to stir things up?

Let me help here...

It is readily apparent that the CS group is quite the dysfunctional family...proven by some of these "first-post" wonders. I hope they don't reflect the whole.

They are advised to leave the petty schoolgirl stuff on their side of the fence and only come join us if they want to be friends with other car people and enjoy our mutual hobby.

Thanks.

i am concerned about the appearance of cs.com and gtcs owners.

This is a thread that does not need to be continued. PMN is gone from this site.

I do not own a Shelby, nor do I want one, and choose not to be part of that site.

the problem is that some here, go over there and make the rest of us look bad.
i don't approve, i have watched someone go and ask paul about his book and try to stir trouble for him. why can't he be left alone?????
they complained about him here, now he's gone. but they don't leave it at that.
they just won't quit.

Nobody here cares about what the people at SAAC think.

If it is a GT/CS discussion, then anybody should be allowed to post about GT/CS stuff.

IMHO this is not an appropriate subject for a public forum.

If you really want to know I suggest you go over to SAAC, sign up, and PM the people you think are causing the problems, or PM the people here.

I agree with Amy, this thread needs to die before it gets ugly.

I would just like to add after having read the SAAC posts that only posting the SAAC reply here i.e. the school girl comment is VERY misrepresenting of the total forum conversation. You have to read the entire post to form an opinion. My opinion is that PMN posted the only inappropriate comment in the topic, he should have kept his yap shut and the post would have been an excellent post with no animosity. He opened the door and further more I will add that the CS folks from here kept their posts very much within reason. The only sarcasm is from Shelby folks, even the post by David was appropriate in my opinion by addressing the facts as they were presented by PMN. The SAAC moderator was way out of line in his attempt at lambasting the CS folks, if he were to read it from the beginning he would find that the CS folks posted very valid CS topics and were well within the lines of what a CS forum should be about if they don't want to deal with CS folks they should not have started a CS forum. Again the only post that ruined the topic was PMN, he was out of line and should have been put in his place and his post deleted if anything the moderator got it wrong, why they defend PMN and lambast CS folks I don't know and don't care.

Just my 2 cents. I will agree with JBART that we need to just avoid that sight and be glad that PMN is no longer here to torment us with his better than thou attitude.

see the problem is that people from here, go over there, cause trouble, and it is making gt/cs owners look pretty silly. i being an owner think i need to express my view that is not what most of us owners approve of. if nothing is said then we all must be ok with it

One additional comment, having seen the SAAC "Forum Guide" in action both in this current and the past issue I have an even deeper appreciation for Jon here at CS.COM, how unprofessional is it to lock a post, lambast an entire group of car enthusiasts in one sweep by calling them (us) all a dysfunctional family. He needs to learn how to address the situation not show his "Authority". Can anyone even imagine Jon making any comment that even comes close this putrid spew?

Thanks Jon for all you do, you are a perfect example.

JBART, I truly respect and appreciate your comments, but PMN running amuck un-questioned makes us look pretty silly as well. I read the posts and don't see where anyone here went over and picked on "poor" Newitt, rather they responded to his usual arrogance when he again tried to corral all of us in as his personal property.

I also want you to think about how many thousands of books he would sell, how much respect and high esteem he would enjoy and how sought after Newitt would be if he held himself to the same standard he tried to hold us to! You say you never met him... Well, some of us who have also have the right to address the damage he repeatedly causes...

I'm all for keeping him as SAAC's problem as the SAAC admin's response shows that he is as short-sided as Newitt. I have never believed that Shelby owners would embrace a GT/CS following in the long run, so all of this was predictable. One would think that a true leader and registrar would embrace and encourage everything we do to increase enthusiasm and value of our cars, but this has never been Newitt who remains interested in growing only himself!

I'm sure the people at SAAC are nice people. They have just been sucked into Newitt's web.

...For the time being, I suppose...

BTW, TJ and I just returned from a swap meet where we brought home a trunk load of Mustang parts. The guy selling is a SAAC member who at one time owned and raced a '65 'R' model as well as restored numerous Shelbys from '65 to '68. He was VERY appreciative and complimentary of the (black) GT/CS we drove up in and we had a wonderful chat!! No name-dropping, no "I'm better"... It was great and he pawed though our car with intense respect and admiration. TJ and I learned some great things from him as well. This is where we belong!!!

Sorry for changing the topic here, but could you elaborate a little more about the 65 "R" model Tim?

...Well, I'm quoting him, but he said it was one of the early '65 (Mustang) Shelbys that were set up specifically for the track and no luxuries. They dolled 'em up a little in '66 apparently, because sales were not as good as they should've been. I am by no means an expert, but it was very interesting conversation :)

Perhaps someone here can fill in the blanks....
