1968 Brakes pull hard to the right - front power discs, rear drums

First, if the wheel cylinder looks dry, and you aren't loosing fluid, it does sound like you have an axle seal that might be leaking. Next, if everything in the front is as you say, I would check for play in the strut rod. It could also be a tie rod end or wheel bearings being loose, but usually...

1968 Power steering not working after rebuilding pump

Jon, I was hoping that someone with more knowledge would check in, because I've only installed rebuilt units on my cars. I'll try to help using experience on hydraulic equipment. First, when you rebuilt the pump, did you buy a rebuilt pump assy. and install it in the housing, or actually rebuild...

    1968 Oil Filter Gasket

Sadly, not for the last two years. I had surgeries both summers. Getting old sucks! The group I was going with broke up, but I plan on going this summer, even if solo!

    Another Bad Idea?

In the early 70's, where I grew up, there was an Austin Healy with a blown hemi in it. The top of the engine was about even with the top of the windshield frame, so the driver would've only been able to see straight ahead. I never saw it drive, or even move from it's spot in the driveway. The...

    1968 Lucas Lights Seem Dim

Probably a grounding issue, but also check the contacts for the bulb to make sure they aren't dirty or oxidized. The lights aren't side specific. Steve

    1968 Oil Filter Gasket

To paraphrase Danny Vermin in the movie Johnny Dangerously.... I left the oil filter gasket on once. Once! :ROFLMAO: You take the old filter off and turn it upside down in the drain pan, assuming the old gasket is with it. You partially fill the new filter, put a little oil on the new gasket...

    1968 Lucas Fog Lights

Hey Harry! I remember you. We hung out and went out to dinner when the wife and I visited Hawaii. That was 18 years ago. Steve

    1968 Fasteners

I've noticed that Ford bolts always seems different lengths than "standard", such as 1 3/8" instead of 1 1/4" or 1 1/2". I guess when you're big enough, you can special order hardware to your liking.

    1968 Fasteners

It looks like an oval head sheet metal screw. Nothing special. Try Ace Hardware. They have a decent selection.
