Rick and I have been discussing the correct placement of the rear "Mustang" script. I thought I knew where it's supposed to be placed, but by looking at various photos I'm now not 100% sure. Is the placement in the attached photo correct? Paul's book shows the hole placements, but not the script. It looks like the bottom of the G is roughly 1/2" from the bottom of the deck lid?

I guess the same question applies to the rear stripe. I've always gone about 3/8" from the top of the spoiler, but can't say that's accurate.

Marty, do you measure the script and stripe placements for judging purposes?

Thanks

Arlie

The script placement looks OK to me. Here's my original (repainted) trunk and emblem.

So, about 1/2" vertical dimension and 5/8" horizontal?

Arlie and as we discussed, then you will have your outliers to make things harder, where the Ford assembly worker or restorer perhaps, may have placed it in the wrong or close enough location since it was a blues Monday or a hurry up Friday.

No, we do not. If it looks close it is OK. They were not all perfect from the factory.
