For Sale Highly Optioned J Code in need of restoration

Some 1968 Mustangs are so rare that you buy them no matter how rusty they are. 1968 CJ convertibles, 135 drag cars, CJ HCS, or CJ GT/CS. A 1968 GT/CS with 289-2V is not so rare a car that you should need to buy one with rust issues. There are rust free ones available. My opinion is that if...

    1968 Side scoops

1968 Shelby scoops are not functional. They do however have sealant around them as well as the rear quarter extensions and the headlight buckets. No GT/CS or HCS that I have seen has the sealant. Scott

    1968 Engine Firewall

Looks like a Mustang firewall to me. You may not like the look, but it's completely consistent with the way they were made. Wouldn't bother me a bit, but I'm a purist. Scott

    1968 Great Mustang Monthly article

Hey Thanks, Just ran across this thread. Mustang Monthly is supposed to be coming by soon to do an article on my Yellow Special Paint 428 CJ Fastback. Original paint car from Russ Davis Ford in California. Only 14 special paint 68.5 CJs were made. Scott

1968 Foam strips on trunk lid?

John, It's a closed cell material. Elephant gray. The material is very close to the 1968 Shelby console weather stripping I had made. The console weather stripping is extruded, but the finished product is very close in terms of the density and cell size. Want me to send you a piece? Scott

1968 Foam strips on trunk lid?

Both Shelby convertible and fastback got them. Scott

1968 Foam strips on trunk lid?

Mine are a hair over 3/4-wide, 1/8-inch thick, and 4-3/4 long. Gray material. If the foam were 1/4-inch thick I don't think you could close the deck lid. McMaster-Carr sells dozens of different widths and thinkness foam/self-adhesive materials that are gray. Check their website. Scott

    1968 Parchment color

The paint color is pretty light in my opinion. If you click on the link and look at the interior photos of my blue convertible you can see the interior. The interior is original and untouched. http://www.scottfullerreproductions.com/page/page/5235457.htm Scott

    1968 rear seat sound deadener

Not sure what you mean by "fiberglass backed", but the original material was brown paper on the top side and clear film other back side. Scott

    1968 Galpin tag frame

Although they are advertised as vintage, they are not. Those are relatively new frames from Galpin. The vintage frames that are correct for 1968 cars say "Galpin Square". They are rare and hard to find. Scott

    1968 Rims on gt/cs

Cars with full wheel covers had black painted wheels. Maybe yours slipped through, but the vast majority were black unless they got the small hubcap. Scott

    1968 Sequential tailights

On Shelbys they were spliced into the existing Mustang wiring by use of the Scotch Lok connectors. You could spend some time and fabricate an in-line connector so that nothing gets cut or modified. Your GT/CS harness could plug into a short harness with the dynamite sticks that then plugs into...
