    Transmission help!!

Hey Rob, I did not get to it this weekend. Will tackle it by next weekend. I DID pick up a transmission jack from Harbor Freight last Saturday, though. So, I've got everything I need to get after it. Will let you know. -Jeff

    San Francisco

Paul, Glad you enjoyed visiting SF. I've lived in the Bay Area the past 24 years and it really is a unique area. I keep meaning to take the CS over to the Marin Headlands and get some pictures of it with the GG bridge in the background. The wine country out my way (Livermore Valley) is...

Does Marti report specify stripe color on GT/CS?

Sorry guys and gals. I originally envisioned a side "C" stripe. And , of course thought that would look very "unique" with a CS stripe. Now I know we are talking about "pin striping" near the top of the side. can some post or reference pics of this combo?

    Transmission help!!

Good info Rob!! Thanks. Will try paragraph two first ;-) The more I think about it, there was no free play in the converter fore to aft when I bolted it up. I think it needs to go that extra 3rd click. Again, I hope no damage occurred. Will let you know what happens. -Jeff

Does Marti report specify stripe color on GT/CS?

Interesting... So could you get a side stripe (pin stripe) option as well as a CS option? Now THAT would be a rare combo.

    Transmission help!!

Maybe a dumb question, but- To back the tranny back enough to wiggle the torque converter on further, is it required to take the drive shaft off (at least on the far end (at the differential)? Or is there enough play in the yoke? Thanks, Jeff

    Transmission help!!

Thanks Rob, Will do what you are suggesting this weekend. Hope I didn't ruin anything if it wasn't on there fully. -Jeff

    Transmission help!!

Joe/Rob, New flex plate at 28.2oz balance. The car ran fine and smooth after start-up. It was just after putting it in reverse. It's like something is binding? Also, when the car is off, I am able to run it through all gears without any linkage binding issues (It behaves just like it did...

    Transmission help!!

Hi all, I finally got the CS motor to fire up...woo hoo!!! (with the right sized carb and getting the timing correct... I was 180 degrees out on the distributor!!! Ugh!!!) My/our elation was short lived... We got the motor idling smooth and up to temp. After about 30 minutes...making sure...

Do you think I could sell 2K GT/CS Books?

Paul, Some additional thoughts- As a comparison, perhaps get sales data from Casey about how many license plate frames he's sold. I know it's not apples to apples, but it may give a sense of how many people might also be interested in spending $ on the book. Also, put up a simple poll here...

Do you think I could sell 2K GT/CS Books?

Paul, Printing costs- How can you get this done for less than the current $ number? If this is the absolute driving issue, maybe scale back on the goodies, even if some of the book is in b/w. And as others have suggested, offer the other goodies to the hard-core fan base (us). Or find a...

Does Marti report specify stripe color on GT/CS?

Stacey, I bought mine at Mustangs Plus in Stockton, CA. If it's not in their on-line catalog (I don't recall seeing it), give them a call 800-999-4289. http://www.mustangsplus.com -Jeff

    Ford Mustang 1965-66 database question

Hey all, I was just thinking about this issue while looking through my (Marti published) Mustangs by the numbers book. ...and that it covers 1967 through 1973 Mustang facts. Anyone know the story about what happened to 1965-66 Mustang databases? All I've read is that Ford "destroyed"...

Does Marti report specify stripe color on GT/CS?

Stacey, For your particular Marti report, the paint/trim codes will be for your car. Paint definition is exterior paint color. Trim definition is interior color with either standard or deluxe amenities. The paint/trim combos for Mustangs in 1968 were virtually any combination you can imagine...

'07 GT/CS in Calif. Ford TV Commercial

Rhonda, Google on "copying dvd to hard drive". There appear to be many ways of copying from DVD to your local hard drive. I'm guessing that Windows Media Player will do it. I'm assuming you have a DVD/CD-ROM on your PC? -Jeff

'07 GT/CS in Calif. Ford TV Commercial

Paul, I saw the pony package commercial again today. The white Mustang is clearly a CS...with the normal GT fog lights in the grill. Wondering if they did this commercial as dual purpose with the CS to be featured in some future commercial..where the current commercial is pushing the pony...

Newbie Needs help with Lucas Lights

I know that the chrome square bases on the Lucas lights are not officially correct (although my CS has them). As I understand it, that since for at least pre-April 15? build date cars, the Lucas lights were a dealer change-out. And not a factory change (until after April 15?) I suspect the...

Tuning issue on the CS 347

Arlie, The compression ratio of 10.47:1 is certainly a factor. I think it'll be a heat/trying to keep the motor cool issue, as well as a "gotta run premium fuel" issue. I'm now thinking the reason the 347 motor might be being fussy with the carb I'm using is the duration of the cam (222/232)...
