    1968 Date Codes and VINs

Someone just sent me some photos of a 289 that has a VIN of 163994 but a date code of August 22, 1967. 163xxx seems too late in the run to have such an early engine. What in the world........? Any thoughts?

    1968 Need a little help

Do you have access to the car? The VIN is on the top of the dash, against the windshield, on the passenger side. Does that number match the VIN on the title? As far as I know, most titles don’t specify GT/CS, so this situation isn’t normal.

I found this GT / CS and need some help

Ugh, way too much rust. I agree with the others that it's worth around $10K, but only if you do your own rust repairs for the next three years. It's a great find, though, and thanks for bringing it to us. I'll order a Marti report and we'll add the car to the registry.

Neil, I think that's more than a paint blemish. Looks like filled-in rust to me.
