    Most Elusive Mustang Part?

J Speegle, My 428 HCS has a gray battery heat shield. Been on the car since Jan of 1970. Are you saying that they never came with one from San Jose? Didn't all 68 Mustang V8s use the same neg cable? Which belt was it missing? Scott

    Most Elusive Mustang Part?

Well here’s my list: 1) J. Speegle is right, an assembly line battery 2) Original positive battery cable 3) Even harder, an original assembly line negative battery cable (one on ebay for $2K now) 4) Big block battery heat shield (especially gray) 5) Original assembly line air filter elements...

Does anyone have a picture of the super-special grommet that Paul mentions?

    Rarest CS Specific Part?

1968 Shelbys have non-functional lower side scoops. They are cut out in the front (unlike the GT/CS) and blacked out inside, but are non-functional. Shelbys also had a bead of clear calk around the side scoops, but GT/CSs do not. Scott

    Rarest CS Specific Part?

The scoop screens are CS specific parts, and not on Shelbys. Scott

    Correct 390 4v snorkel

Why would Ford maintain two air cleaner assemblies for the same motor depending on whether the car was Canadian or domestic? Does anyone know what would be the point? Doesn't make any sense to me. Can someone scan in the documents that show the Canadian cars with the 67 assembly? Scott

Hey Tim...I live in Ridgecrest California. Desert Motors is still in business here. Have bought several cars from them over the years. In fact, they have a white CS on the lot now. Scott

    1967 special

I'd say the DSO precludes it from being a Stallion. Scott

    1967 special

1967 Shelbys did not use an S in the vin for 428s, would have been a Q. Car cannot be a Shelby. Scott

When is gone GONE for a car

That's pretty good. I would have thought a lot more. The labor bill could have doubled it I'd guess. Scott

When is gone GONE for a car

Yes, there is a 289 GT/CS in a junk yard in Nevada. Does not have the door tag, but I know the person who removed it...but I don't know why. They told me that if someone bought the car to let them know and they would give them the door tag. He would not tell me where the car was though...
