    1968 Heater core replacement

    1968 Heater core replacement

Going to be hard pressed to epoxy the spout back on and have it hold. Depending on how the break is you could try fiberglassing it. I don't recall the size but you may be able to sleeve a short piece of copper tube (less corrosion) inside and glass around the break. Without some internal...

    1968 Tail Light Covers

As the caps look to be painted body color too I'd suspect a body shop fix to the rear panel with an "ooops" in cutting the hole... as its hidden from the outside just left it...

    1968 Weatherstrip

Think I used the Carpenter on 3 '68 coupes and they seemed OK. Recall no significant fitment issues on any of them. Just a semi-related note on Steele fabrication/fit, I have compared the Steele convertible top wetherstripping to OEM and Drake, its not a lot different to SD. Both differ from...

    1968 Seat Cover Change

NPD sells it, cut to fit. https://www.npdlink.com/store/products/mustang_pad_set_rear_seat_meshed_backed-167817-277.html There is similar batting on the seat back.

    1968 NOS GT/CS Stripe Kit

The OEM "Scotchcal" 3650 has a stated manufacturers shelf life of 2 years(see datasheet link below). I have installed decals that were 4-5 years old successfully, but I am thinking 45+ years (depending on if NOS is factory era or service replacement from a later date) is a stretch... I'd...

    1968 door grille template

Well, quality of beer does not impeded sales... Look a the top sellers in the US, #1 Bud Light - $2 billon in sales in 2015... then Coors Light, Miller light... almost $4 bn in sales between them. Lotsa bad beer going down! 8 of the top 10 US sellers are "light" watery lagers...

    1968 door grille template

:wink:I can make up a pair if needed. Postage costs... VB is the Budweiser of Australia (the Aussies don't think so!) a stronger flavour, but still low end mass-consumption beer IMHO. I'd have a XXXX bitter before a VB. Local Queensland brewed beer. There is still a legacy of the "tied...

    1968 door grille template

I just made that bracket for the EXP. A flat piece of steel, trim the ends and then used a brake to fold the two edges up to stiffen... And I have access to a '68 factory AM/FM car right now, if anyone wants a speaker template. As noted, I'd say its just as easy to just measure and cut to...

    1968 Green Hornet

... and for those that think a Mustang can't go... "Green Hornet was tested at Ford's Romeo proving grounds in Michigan, where it achieved an average of 157 mph for two 10-mile laps (using a 3.01 rear axle ratio). " (from...

    1968 Green Hornet

Its not Highland Green but a custom dark green/gold metal flake Sonny Fee did back in the day (famous So Cal hot rod painter, was the early days of metalflake back then). A "secret" formula he never divulged, but did give to the people who restored it back in the early 90s. They replaced...

    1968 Green Hornet

With the GTCS failing to meet the planned 5000, and Shelby sales not as high as desired making another variant was not "good business".... The IRS has been considered on the Mustang earlier, and discarded, as it really did not do much for handling and added cost. IMO it is an exceptional car...

1968 Normallly SD parts are underwhelming...

Yep Neil, that SD one is really a piece of junk. WCCC offers new mirrors or even swaps for OEM, a bit more than the repros, but at least its correct... this may have been posted here before.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vyuSBPelq8

    1968 The never ending "repaint"....

I have kits, two adapters plates, all hardware instruction booklet on install. Does not include '69 headrest or mounting bracket, but available from NPD, etc. Reuse your '68's no need to find 69s, which are becoming harder to get. Not sure what shipping to the US would be, but if anyone wants...

1968 Normallly SD parts are underwhelming...

No dye. I have a black interior. I am unsure of the difference between these and the pre-colored. They did fit to the door line/seam very well... an area I have struggled with on other repros a few years back...

    1968 The never ending "repaint"....

Typically this project blew out the budget/schedule and the "while I'm at its" grew and grew... but we are getting close. Waiting on a new date correct distributor as the old one seems to have some "wobble" making tuning tough. Finished install of '69 headrests on the '68 seats yesterday, a...

1968 Normallly SD parts are underwhelming...

Neil, The NPD '68-'69 repro is not too bad. Lever is the wrong color, a typical minor item on a repro one would think they could have gotten right with a tiny bit more effort... but... the overall look is close and they seem to work OK...

Yep, Ford was engineering parts then, pre "planned obsolescence" era. Not making lowest cost "replacements"...
