1968 Well, I just bought the "7 million in gold and 1 GT/CS" car

Brake cooling? So here is something else I didn't expect. I'm attaching a copy of the Marti report and a couple of pics. The Marti report shows "extra cooling". Does this refer to the side brake cooling ducts which I thought were not active on the GT/CS?. As you can see in the two pics...

1968 Well, I just bought the "7 million in gold and 1 GT/CS" car

Inititial word back on the car is very clean. Very grimy and interior was not treated very well. Driver seat needs repair in a couple of places. No dash cracks, one spot of rust near shock mount. Need to give it a better look. Than VIN thing is really odd though. Gonna look for a build...

Mud and snow. So the first info is coming in on the car. Lots of pics. Many are close-ups so not great pics. Here is the first and real confusing thing though. Vin is missing. Take a look at the pic. Thoughts?

1968 Well, I just bought the "7 million in gold and 1 GT/CS" car

Well as it turns out the open transport was probably not the right idea. Weather sucked and the car looked pretty bad coming off the truck. Paul is going to clean it up so he can take an initial look.

1968 Well, I just bought the "7 million in gold and 1 GT/CS" car

Update - Car to be dropped off today in Illinois Well it took longer than expected and the driver missed his delivery window Friday afternoon so had to wait until today to get delivery on the car. A bit concerned about the cold weather up there because I have no idea what condition the...

1968 Well, I just bought the "7 million in gold and 1 GT/CS" car

Shipping scheduled and a couple of questions Ok, so the car ships tomorrow. Heading to Illinois and should arrive there Friday. That's when we get the first chance to see what we really have. Unfortunately it will be my mechanic friend Paul who will be able to see and check it over as I am in...

1968 Well, I just bought the "7 million in gold and 1 GT/CS" car

Actually I have heard good things about them. Almost went with them when shipped my '68 f100 but used DAS and was very pleased. Looking at Trusted First Auto right now. Dealing with a guy named Charles. Seems well versed on shipping vintage cars. Will let you know how that goes.

1968 Well, I just bought the "7 million in gold and 1 GT/CS" car

So Nate, another very intriguing question I have is the argent silver painted tail light panel. So strange that this reclusive mother and son (he never worked and always lived with his mother after his father died in 1963 in an industrial accident) would buy this car and the mother would order...

1968 Well, I just bought the "7 million in gold and 1 GT/CS" car

Thanks Tim. Yeah, they say there is no place for emotion when buying cars but I can't seem to remember that. Ah, what the hell I'll just fess up here and tell you. I paid $13,750 for the car. In my view that was a stiff price for a car that I did not even know the value of, did not see or did...
