Steve, Here are a couple of pictures of the trunk mats I have in my cars. The first picture is of the non-speckle painted mat (just matted materia) and the second picture is of a matted material with speckle paint. Also a couple of not-very-good picturs of some of the cars. Scott

I've been curious about this too. I have three GT/CS's and they all have original trunk mats as far as I know. One has a painted speckled pattern on it, and two have a matted cloth mat which would be similar to the painted speckled mat but without the paint. The speckled mat is in the car...

I was looking at the early (1989) GT/CS Recognition Guide and read on Pg. 30 that there were only 10 (estimated) GT/CS Mustangs that went to the Dallas DSO. Has anyone out there looked into that any further to see if that is accurate? Just curious. Scott

I have three GT/CS's and one 1968 Shelby and none of the deck lids fit very well. I think a poor fit is normal and typical of the quality of the part. Maybe the reproduction lids fit better, but I'd rather have a poor fitting original part than a well fitting reproduction one. Scott

I agree with the above comment. But my view is also influenced by the desire to have original/unrestored cars. But eventually nearly all cars get resold and originallity does impact the price one can get for a car. I typically won't even go look at a car that doesn't have the original engine...

lyaden, The ebay address I gave you are for 1965 California plates. All California plates from 1963 through 1969/1970 (until they ran out) are stamped 1963. They started at AAA 001 in 1963 and ran through ZZZ 999. I've not researched where in the sequence 1965 plates would be but I have 5...
