Detail Question for Original CS cars

Paul, My car has the natural, bare metal surface on the cut off ribs and the same bare metal surface on the hole saw holes for the other four lights. There's also still metal "shavings" on the edge that indicate that the hole saw started from the outside of the car and not cut from inside the...

Auburn California - "Thunder in the Sky"

All, Sorry if this is old news but... The tri-tip cut of meat seems to be a popular Northern California thing...not sure how regional it is. My girlfriend's family is from the Pacific Northwest and they had never heard of it until we had it at my place. A really great way to prepare it is...

Auburn California - "Thunder in the Sky"

Tim, Can you elaborate on the bike crash? ...and smoke oil? Do you ride/race? My worst bicycle crash (on my road bike...as an adult) was on a freshly chip-sealed road. Chip sealing is the process of "re-paving" the road with pea-gravel over oil instead of traditional pavement. This seems to...

    Northwest mustang round up

We happened to be up in Seattle a few weekends ago- ...and stopped by the Mustangs North West Roundup show. Wow, 1400 + Mustangs. A few pics of the CS's that I saw up there page 12 and 13 through the photo album. Also a few pics of the new '07 CS near the end. Hope this link works-...

    Gasoline

$.69 While in trade school in Phoenix 1982. Oddly enough, I paid $1.35 in So Cal in 1979 when I was 16 and just started driving...the second oil crisis was in full swing with gas lines, odd/even license plate days to get gas...ahhh, those were the days ;-)

Anyone have a 68 HCS in Tahoe Turquoise or Raven Black?

Jon, I have a Tahoe Turquoise GT/CS. My Elite Marti report shows 57 had this paint code (out of 4118). That's about 1.4% of all CS's. So, if you figure that same 1.4% within the 251 that were designated as HCS's you get between 3 and 4 HCS's that were Tahoe Turquoise... Pretty rare. -Jeff

    (Rock, Paper) Scissors?

Thanks guys. This jack and tool issue sounds perhaps like a few other things with Mustangs of that era in that if they ran out of a particular part at the assembly plant, they substituted it with another. So long as it generally fit into the same form, fit, and functionality. I would guess...

    (Rock, Paper) Scissors?

...Or Bottle? Trying to finish my incomplete trunk area. Did the 1968 Mustangs come with a scissor jack? Or a hydraulic bottle jack? Anyone have a picture of the correct complete set of tools that they came with? Thanks, Jeff

    8R01 Question

David, No way to really tell if it's a bona-fide GTCS without a Marti report. If you know the range of VIN numbers that GTCSs were produced (per Paul's first book...earliest to last known) that would narrow down the likelyhood that it was real. Some things that I looked for when I was in the...

    Nordakota Cow

The Nordakota Cow~ Ole is a farmer in Minnesota. He is in need of a new milk cow and hears about a nice one for sale over in Nordakota. (that would be 'North Dakota' for you non-Scandahoovians out there). He drives to Nordakota, finds the farm and looks at the cow. Ole reaches under to see if...
