1968 GT VS A Non GT California special.

In 1967 you could order the GT with the 289 2-V(C-code); but not in 1968! Kerry, I too would like to see a Marti report if you could post it. It would be real interesting to see the entire option list for that car. If it does in fact exist I think I would pay Kevin Marti to research how many 68...

    1968 J-Code GT/CS Restoration Thread

Bryce, Nice job! I once heard that when restoring a car you should restore every piece like it was the only piece a judge would be looking at! I applaud the effort you have taken to restore this car! It looks beautiful already; and it's not even complete! One of the best things (IMO) about...

    1968 Dual exhaust

It sounds like you have found a copy of the original build sheet. If this is in fact for your car the VIN should be printed on the build sheet and includes valuable information to your specific car. The build sheets were generic; so many "blocks" on the build sheet did not apply to your car...

1968 Frame Detailing - Please comment

There are a couple different products available; most do not cover like the product and procedure they used when the car was originally made. You can do a little research. Many use either 3M or Wurth products. Both are available in spray cans or a special undercoating gun. IIRC Jeff has...

    . Rupp family car show

Nice collection Marty! I am partial to the Sunlit Gold GT Coupe! I had a J-code GT coupe (same color combo) some years ago; the only thing I have to show for it is the Marti report and some pictures. It was a "Local Promotion" car! Danny

    1968 Galpin tag frame

That's good to know. After I posted these I did a search of just "Galpin Ford" and I think 7 different auctions for plate frames came up. So yes, these pictured are not too rare! Thanks, Scott

1968 Frame Detailing - Please comment

It looks good; personally I would blow more black under the car. The separation lines in some places looks too deliberate to me. Although every car was different! On the outside of the aprons you should have body color up to the shock towers. Usually some primer was showing through in the...

That sucks! I'll try to find the original pictures and post here. TEAMLO, can you take a picture of your blue PBF valave cover and post? It may be quicker! Danny

1968 Unusual Spark Plug Wire Separator

You can see the different spark plug wire "holder" in this link. Most visible in the second picture. http://www.ncrmc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=406 Danny

1968 Unusual Spark Plug Wire Separator

Mustang and Ford Small Block V-8 1962-1968 by Bob Mannel addresses the extension; but does not indicate a changeover date. The valve covers that used the extension are also slightly different. The early style valve covers actually had a "support arm" that bent over the side of the valve cover...

1968 Unusual Spark Plug Wire Separator

Almost certain your car would have the extension! I'll try to research the conversion time frame; but it may be a few days. Danny

. engine stalls when hot - help

What is your water temp.? How "fresh" is your engine? I think Robert is on the right path; but you have never indicated what your water temp. is. A fresh engine builds more heat than an older engine. A radiator that worked fine with an older engine may not be flowing sufficiently to cool a fresh...

1968 Need brake cylinder and booster unit for PB car

Don't overlook the obvious; you may have good luck at the local parts store ie. NAPA. Many places still offer parts such as this. They rebuild all sorts of cores...I've found original FoMoCo water pumps, master cylinders, wheel cylinders, etc. at a fraction of the price compared to some of the...

1968 Unusual Spark Plug Wire Separator

It is correct for 1968; but IIRC it was only used for a portion of the year. I can't remember the time frame that they discontinued using it. The small block ford book addresses it though. Also everyone I've ever seen were panted blue like the valve cover. Danny

    SOLD A/C Center Dash Difuser

Bryce, Sorry I didn't get back with you on this piece. I have the underdash defrosters vent, center dash difuser, and passenger side dash vent. I would consider it all "driver quality!" Let me know if this interests you. Danny
