    New to the site!

Welcome Melissa, Nice license tag on your car. I bet people driving by have a hard time figuring that one out! This is a great site, with a great bunch of people who love their California Specials ('68 and '07) and their High Country Specials ('66,'67,'68). Casey

If the 1968 GT/CS were a fastback like the 1967 HCS?

Maybe Lee Gray, in his wisdom, saw that the convertibles and fastbacks already had the public eye, and wanted to give the coupe something everyone would see as different - including improving 68 sales. When he saw it with Fred Goodell and saw that Shelby wasnt going to build it beyond the...

    Wanted: Affordable Fog Light Covers

Hi - There are several types of Lucas light covers. The black hard vinyl ones with the round eye are period correct for 68. The black hard vinyl ones with square eye are similar, but I believe came just a bit later. The GT/CS and Shelby's did not come with these covers - mine (round eye) are...

    "Concours". Is it for you?

I am with you 100% (except the shag floor mats - that's so 70's). I was surprised to have MCA give me cover on Mustang Times, since my GT/CS is nice, but not concourse. I think people ARE realizing the rarity of the car, and any shape people want to drive it is appreciated. Heck, Don...

VOTE NOW for the 2007 Calendar - Ends Friday Sept 29th

My car is not in the running, so I speak with no bias - I would really like to see an 07 GT/CS on an 07 calendar. I think it just makes sense to recognize the resurrection of the GT/CS by Ford. Hopefully through voting, or some other method chosen by Jon, we could do this. Casey

GT/CS Dash Plaque--I need your input.

Rallyeproductions does nice work. They did the Shelby show at Volo, and did brass plaques for me for a show I was managing. They used my artwork. Casey http://www.rallyeproductions.com/ Mary Fero [[email protected]]

GT/CS Dash Plaque--I need your input.

Using the words in the context of a sentence is ok. "Inspiration by Shelby GT" is Shelby used in a sentence, and in historical context. Just like your using the sentence in a book or magazine. Also the phrase is in the public domain since 1968 - and the phrase did not come from Shelby...

GT/CS Dash Plaque--I need your input.

I would like something that includes the new GT/CS owners as well. Thus, anything that has the 68 on it, or is specifically designed to go in a special place of a 68 would be difficult for the new owners. So, with that as my reasoning, I like the idea of "Member XXXX GT/CS Registry" that...

    Instrument cluster question

Mine had black tape, and I also found a loose wire with a socket when I was doing the tach thing. I took the black tape off, stuck a bulb in the loose wire and socket, twisted it in place in the instrument cluster and was thinking how lucky/smart I was to find this. Then I put everthing back...

Why is there still confusion about the GT/CS?

All marketing: Shelby + Mustang + muscle (1960's, early '70's) = big$. Shelby name goes with Mustang muscle car in the 60's. (Remember Shelby Chargers are not bringing big money - so just the Shelby name is not enough. It needs connection to muscle). Marketing of CS and Cougar Shelby...

Black CS on Ebay straight from "THE" CARROLL SHELBY FACILITY but.............

I save all those cheap refrigerator magnets that are sent in the main. I then glue them to the back of all my car show dash plaques, and put most of them on my tool chest. This one I put on the roll-up door for looks (it is magnet on back, so can be moved when needed). Casey

    07 GT/CS registry

I would love a GT/CS 2007 Forum. Let's do it if possible. We want to welcome new 2007 owners to the site - and I would love to see some of their cars - I still drool. Maybe even tweak the site (headers, sidebar menus, etc.) to show 2007 GT/CS's. Sorry Jon - I know that is a lot of work...

does 1968 mustang came with disc brakes

From your posted Marti report, they do not appear to be original. I wouldnt change them, as they definitely help with braking. Casey

Black CS on Ebay straight from "THE" CARROLL SHELBY FACILITY but.............

Nice looking car. If authentic, a few small mods could make it even more nice. As for Shelby - he will sign anything for $200, and it all goes to his children's heart foundation. I have a "Shelby" signed GT/CS - I had him sign my visor. I also have a couple of dash plaques he signed...

How many GT/CS were sold in Canada

Less than 200 total (all engines) to Canada. Kevin Marti would have the exact data. Casey
