1968 Battery tray apron rust repair

I have the same repair to make on dad's HCS. If you replace the whole panel you will need to remove the fender also the hidden VIN at the top will be lost. I recommend buying the replace and cutting out only what you need. This does not require removing the fender but you do need some welding...

What is your gas cost today?

1.69 in Omaha. It does not feel as bad to drive the Shelby these days.

    1968 Wiring Question

Not all 68 front harnesses have the fog light wires, that is why I think someone may have replaced it then discovered that the fog light wiring was not there and added it. I'll bet those wires are grey. Marty

    1968 Wiring Question

In the first picture there should be a plug for head light, park light, marker light, horn and fog light. In the second picture I have not seen that extra plug before but suspect that if the wires are grey that some one replaced the fog light wiring. Marty

1968 Finally getting my HCS on the road again! - Startup procedure

That tank looks pretty new. The tank drain was a original feature. I would put a couple dozen nuts or a small chain and a Qt. of lacquer thinner then slosh it around a bit. Then drain it and let it dry. Lastly blow it or vacuum it out. I would just blow air through the line. Then after you have...

1968 Finally getting my HCS on the road again! - Startup procedure

Jon good start, I would also cover the distributer and carburetor with plastic bags and spray everything with some Gunk engine cleaner then rinse it off. That will just make it nicer to work on. If you still have brakes I would bleed them. If not some new wheel cylinders or master cylinder may...

    1968 New family project

Yes it is a Dynacorn. It fit pretty well although I spent more time fitting than welding. I laid what was left of the old floor on top of the new one and they matched pretty well. Two things that are off, the hole in the floor for the assembly line trolley pin was not centered in the frame...

1968 Looks like I'm going to be a owner again....with my old GTCS!

I do not blame you for wanting it back, it is beautiful. It appears in the photo to have rubber on the front bumper guard or is that just a shadow? Marty

Sorry Dave did not think about the 66s and 67s HCS, absolutely would want to include them. We are planning a stay in Estes Park for a few day after the show.

    1968 New family project

I did not restore the 68 GT350. I just went through the drivetrain to make it safe to drive. I plan to tear it clear down in a few years and do a concours restoration. It has been repainted and will look like my last picture when I am finished.

    1968 HCS reunion?

July 17-19th 2015 there will be a MCA national show in Loveland CO. I was thinking it would be really cool to try to get a HCS reunion planed. Bob Teets has been the HCS register and promoter for many years, it would be great to do this for him as a thank you. It would be awesome to have 10% of...
