    . Shelby question

For 1967 there were 3 or 4 small suppliers on the west cost. They had a hard time keeping up with the demand and had quality issues. AO Smith took over for 68 and had better quality control and could handle the volume better. Good thing as 68 was the largest production year. Marty

1968 To Paint or not to Paint - suggestions?

Yes strip to bare metal. You should be able to get a nice paint job for around 8-10K especially if you disassemble and reassemble the car your self. It is expensive but so worth it when it is done. Good Luck

1968 Help a sister out please, car fire

A couple of years ago the MCA made the decision to not allow any cars on the show field with out a fire extinguisher. There were some that were angered at this decision which is hard for me to understand. Fires are rare but that is little consolation when it is your car or the car next to you...

    1968 Voltage Regulator Cover Color

Most commonly see the silver. As I recall the label color was indicator of the rating. I think you would see the yellow on cars with AC. Marty

1968 Restoring a deluxe steering wheel

I think the gold tint is due to age on the clear coat. I have repaired some standard wheels but all ways had trouble with the cracks coming back in a few months. Let us know how you come out.
