1968 Thinking about adding to the stable...

...Well the key lies in not damaging your investments coupled with the fact it's a good time to buy. "Guilt" and all that other stuff depends on your individual personality & can be pretty normal... I personally rationalize it by knowing in advance that all my cars really belong to God & that...

...Read the sequential numbers on the negs Arlie. If they're right - you're right... Here's some more that would explain why I'm partially deaf (aside from age) these days. While some of you stood alongside drag strips - I opted for airport runways. 'Same thrill of 2000 to 4000 un-corked...

1968 Carb leak...O Ring or fitted brass

Hey Robert, Great to see you here again! Mine would do that - get wet again, swell, then seal itself... Go start it right now and see if it's still leaking before you take it apart. The connecting tube o-ring was usually the culprit (making it look like everything was leaking...)

1968 Build date question - how early?

Rob, Regarding the debut, the text on that page reads "...as sales to dealers exceeded 1000 GT/CS cars .... One Thousand cars is all Lee Gray and his staff had on hand at the time and probably could have sold many more than that"... So does that mean 1000 cars were already complete by Feb 15...

Rob, I went to Best Buy and got an ION FILM 2 SD 35mm film & slide scanner. The nice thing about this one is you load negs, view and scan in the unit which loads it's own chip to put on your computer. Priced around $130.00... Avoid the "sale priced" ones that plug into your computer as some...

    1968 Mecum Auction Results

Well, it's encouraging if nothing else. I wonder now if we're going to see anther run of $20K fixer-uppers take residence on Ebay & craigslist..... P.S. 'Just read that it was a cloned convertible? 'Wonder if the buyer knows that...

Paul, Thanks. I was thinking along the same lines, but wasn't sure if it was a real Shelby or kit. It has a "famous" look to it however, so I wondered if someone here recognized it. Cory, Perhaps eventually a "Blurb", but I still have many items to go through. I had forgotten what a shutter...
