1968 Yet another grille color question

I had a custom mix made for our HCS, It was just about as good of a match as one could hope for. I had a friend use some of it to paint his 66 styled steel wheels. He said it matched. You might try NPD's AP-SSW 65-67 wheel paint. I never have used it my self.

    1968 Engine emblem on fender

Rob let me try again. This is only my idea but I think there was the standard that was drilled for the displacement emblem and Mustang script and there was a non drilled blank that was used for the GT cars and GT-CS and HCS cars. The blank was then sold as a Ford service replacement so it could...

    1968 Engine emblem on fender

I do not think I have ever seen a NOS one drilled but that would make sense so it could be used for any model. It would also make sense that that the standard line fenders were to save time.

    1968 Engine emblem on fender

I have not got time to research but have a idea that a blank fender may have been used for the GT fender and the GT-CS fender. Just a thought. Marty

    Wanted Gotham Ford memorabilia

That is cool, is it restored? Gotham Ford was one of the biggest Shelby dealers in the country in the 60's. The HCS is complete or as complete as they ever are. It has received Concours gold awards at the last two MCA nationals. Please keep us up dated as to the progress on your HCS when the...

    1968 GT/CS Gas Cap

It has been a while since I bought one but the last one I got from Virginia Classic Mustang had the disclaimer and provided a twist on cap that fit under the pop off cap for driven cars. If any one is concerned about their safety it is easy to remove the spring and seal and purchase a small...

1968 Window Sticker Nomenclature/Pricing Differences: Original vs. Marti Reproduction

I am not saying that everyone paid that price just that was the price posted on the sticker and that did not change regardless of the car sold for.

1968 Window Sticker Nomenclature/Pricing Differences: Original vs. Marti Reproduction

[ In any case the prices for any item, from the factory or the dealer, were not fixed across all cars for the entire model year. Many options lists on the web, and books I've seen, note that the numbers did vary... I believe that the prices on factory options were fixed. I am sure that the...

1968 Window Sticker Nomenclature/Pricing Differences: Original vs. Marti Reproduction

My window sticker is shown in Paul Newitt's book in the HCS section. The prices on the Marti report seem to be consistent with the ones on my sticker. Marty

    1968 Repaint question... opinions....

I can not say that the silicone is correct on GT-CS but I can tell you that my friend at RA motorsports that has done Shelby restorations in excess of 2 million dollars know his stuff on Shelby's. In 68 since Ford was building the Shelby's and GT-CS car I would not be surprised if many of the...

    1968 Repaint question... opinions....

The MCA 67-68 Shelby Judge sheet says that the early 67 used the grey strip calk and the latter used clear silicone on the headlight buckets, end caps and side scoops. All 68's used the clear silicone. The grey strip calk was used on both years tail light panels. I do not have a lot of Shelby...
