Some more photos. It seems to be as original as the seller says, and as solid. That said, it does look like the inner fender bolts are painted green. That and the stripes being messed up make me think it was repainted many years ago.

Since the mechanical work has been done I think this would be a good car to use as a driver. Replace the stripes, polish the paint, and cruise, all the time fixing minor items, like the fog lights. I asked the seller to send me photos of the underside of the hood and the back of the tail...

Here's the work the new owner had performed.

I also thought it was a side impact but in one of the photos a small portion of the passenger side quarter is visible and it show the same damage. There seems to be a weak spot on the frame, where it goes over the rear axle, that tends to buckle fairly easily with an impact to the rear of the car.

This cap is from my truck but the principle applies to GT/CSs. I had never seen this problem before but a new cap sure made the truck run better. Eight cylinders are always better than seven!
