    Newbie Help on CS Purchase

Hi Casey! I will definitley ask for anything I can get. I heard back from him via email that the original owner had changed the color to black on the interior. It was black when he purchased it, he only changed the exterior color. I'm going to set something up with the inspection agent to go...

    Newbie Help on CS Purchase

Thanks for the feedback Rhonda! I hear what you're saying and I don't mind the attention at all. I've always driven cars that were a little bit different, whether it was color or something else. I like that it's rare and unique. I'm hoping it will spark a lot of conversation and questions...

    Newbie Help on CS Purchase

I'm kind of in the same place I think. I don't hear anyone saying "Oh my God don't even bother buying it if that's the case :o" - so that's a good thing. I think for the price and knowing it's an original GT/CS it's a good deal. You don't see a lot of GT/CS cars in the NY area either so it...

    Newbie Help on CS Purchase

I'm not looking to buy the car as an investment that I'm expecting to increase in value. I'm not looking for a concours restoration either (at least not at this point 8) but you never know what the future holds right?). I'm looking for something I can enjoy driving, take to local cruises and...

    Newbie Help on CS Purchase

I got he Marti report faxed to me today. Everything came back as expected except for the interior code. Everything else matched including the California Special option. I think I messed up the codes when I decoded them in my previous post. When I decoded the info on the interior color this...

    Newbie Help on CS Purchase

Thanks for checking Casey! Yes that is him, that is the current owner. He said he has owned it for 20 years so it makes sense that he would be the owner in 89 too. He is the 3rd owner of the car. I'm going to give a call tomorrow to try and get the Marti report done and faxed to me. Is the...

    That's what I figured. Thanks! 8)

    Why GT?

I may be opening up a topic that's been discussed here before but I can't find the specific topic in the forums. Searching for GT just isn't going to narrow it down ;) My question is: If the GT/CS wasn't a true GT and the GT package was an option ... what was the significance of Ford using GT...

    Newbie Help on CS Purchase

I'm sorry I guess appraiser was the wrong word. I should have said Inspector. From what I have read on this company they check whatever they can without removing any parts from the car (excluding dipstick, oil or radiator cap, etc...) due to liability reasons. They will test drive with the owner...

    Newbie Help on CS Purchase

I was wondering about that too. Thanks!! Another question I had ... if the current owner had a Marti report done himself is that good enough? I feel I can trust that he isn't going to fabricate a fake report. My buddy is going to try and hook me and his Dad up via phone tomorrow. His Dad is...

    GTCS, true or false

Actually on both Yahoo and eBay the listing title is has it as a 68 and it has the 68 codes according to the pictures of the codes. It looks like the 67 was just a typo in the descriptions.

    GTCS, true or false

??? Isn't this the same car that was on eBAY last week with a starting bid of $19,000?? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6236&item=4543204669&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Now they only want $8,000 or Best Offer? Maybe the 0 (zero) bids made a difference. Rich

LOL! ;D Thanks for the help! Hoping to get the VIN tomorrow and get the report, etc ... then I guess it's time to make a decision on whether I'm going to do this or not. I can't thank you all enough for the info. I'll let you know what happens. Rich

    Newbie Help on CS Purchase

Hi Don, Thank you! So your car is the one I referred to earlier in the thread. I knew there was one I saw that was mounted the same way. It can't hurt to ask the question to see what the explanation is. Rich

    Newbie Help on CS Purchase

Hi Rhonda, I thought the price was reasonable based on what I've been seeing on-line. As for the other GT/CS I unfortunatley didn't write down the number. My wife thought she had it memorized but I thought it was parked to be sold in a gas station near our house so I was planning on stopping...

    Newbie Help on CS Purchase

Not a daily driver and not a concourse restoration. I want to enjoy the car - take it to some local cruises (there's one almost each night of the week around here) and car shows. I'll garage it and only drive it in good weather, etc ... much like I do with my 96 - I have less than 30,000 miles...
