Decided to go with the JBA Cat4ward ceramic coated shorties (1650SJS) for $600ish. I kept looking at the Hedman Elite thermal coated shorties (88408) for half the price but they are "thermal coated" and that phrase makes me nervous. It sounds like they put on 4 coats of paint instead of 2!

That's why there are 251 HCSs. The plan was to produce 250 but somehow, someone got this X-code built.

It's not the coil. Tomorrow I'll test the voltage regulator and the ignition switch. The fuel pump works, and the spark plugs were soaked so it's getting gas (maybe too much). After the electrical items are all changed out I'll check the carb.

I think the Litte Red convertible sold for around $700K.

All the evidence is pointing more and more towards the coil. The solenoid shorted out a few weeks ago (the engine kept running after I turned off the key) and that may have damaged the coil. It's certainly easy enough to swap it out with the old one. Never thow away old Mustang Parts!!!!

Good idea. It's new but I'll check it anyway. Everything else I've bought new lately has been faulty so it may be faulty, too!

I bought a rebuild kit a couple weeks ago. Now may be a good time to use it.
