    Eleanor Convertible Project

Out of site out of mind comes to mind on this one. Overspray on exhaust, no paint on the lower portions of the body parts. What a waste of $$. I just can't fathom doing a half a.s job like that. It makes you wonder if it wasn't done just to sell it to some poor sucker.

    Insurance Repairs

If they total the car and pay you off, with some insurance companies if you ask they will give you an option of salvage rights. For instance I totaled my boat, they paid me for it and then I bought it back for about 10% of the pay off. They will not volunteer this information, you must ask.

    Air shocks

I never had any problems with the air shocks on my Mustang. That was back in 77. Mine had separate hoses also. Using technology of today, my opinion is also go with some nice KYB or similar shocks and use new springs to adjust your ride hieght. I have been looking at the Edelbrock IAS series...

    Holes in Hoods

Yes Paul, The hood has been primered. The whole car is now comfortably resting in epoxy primer. The body shop Did the majority and then Arlie and I spent another day getting VERY picky with all the little places they missed. On their behalf they just don't have the time to be as anal about...

    Air shocks

Rhonda, My 67 had air shocks, never had a problem like that. My only recommendation would be to check the pressure when you fill them. When you know they are leaking again, get a spray bottle of soapy water and spray all the fittings and seals from the valve stems along the tubing to the...

    67 GT/CS on ebay

Add to Arlies list these other 67 items, inside door handles, window cranks, front seats and rearview mirror. It would be interesting to see what the back side of the taillights look like.

    Question about steering

Rhonda, Unless you intend to drive your car VERY hard and don't care about keeping it stock the rack and pinion is probably not the way to go. It is very pricey but cool. It will cost you at least $1500 depending which vendor you go with and much more if you have them do the work. If you mostly...

    Question about steering

Rhonda, I would have someone turn your wheel back and forth stop to stop slowly. While they are doing this I would look underneath and watch for anything that may be catching or binding in the steering components. Watch also the joint connections to see if they jump at a certain point in...

    Holes in Hoods

After reading Pauls post I ran out and measured to see if they were the same on my car. On my car the hood frame holes are 2.5" in diam. The taillight dimple holes are 2.75" So maybe the same guy but not the same drill bit. The hood hole also seems to be a cleaner cut than the taillight cuts.

    Another on eBay

It has to be a garage. I don't believe a storage facility would put that kind of window in and hang trinkets on the walls. He does have some neat toys. The black car is a 1925 Tudor model T Sedan. The red one looks to be a 1929 Delux Phaeton Model A. Can't make out the others. That GT/CS is...

EXciting day for me today....closing a deal on a 390 CS

That's it Jason, you definitely need that 6 car garage with the high overheads and that lift. I'd be more than happy to share my dream shop/garage plans with you. All I ask in return is that you let me drool a little when it's done. lol

    GTCS, true or false

Just for giggles, tell the guy you are hiring an inspector that a colleague recommended. Ask him for the address of the vehicle to save you both the trouble and expence of shipping back and forth if you don't desire the car. I'll bet he hedges big tme!

Bluto, did you use a stock AOD or did you have it gone through with shift kit etc.? Could you post or send me a mail as to what steps you took and what you ran into that you didn't expect? I'm keeping my eyes open for a good deal on one, I just haven't found it yet. It seems like a really...

    Basecoat / Clearcoat

With the single stage do you have to worry about sanding through a layer of paint? (as opposed to having 3 or 4 coats of clear to work with. The single stage gives you that mirror like shine? That bicycle statement is still giving me the Eebee-Jeebees :o :o >:( :-\ :'(

    Basecoat / Clearcoat

PPG is the brand my body shop guy prefers to use. I am under the impression that if I want to get that really deep deep shine with a dark color I need to use several coats of clear and then color sand and buff, polish, polish and more polishing.
