    Chemical dipping/stripping

The prices I have been quoted have varied depending on the process used. The last process I have found, the most expensive and the closest to my house (so far), I was told you could drink this stuff and not be effected. I would have to see that to believe it. The web site for this outfit is...

    Chemical dipping/stripping

I believe the surface rust on the interior portions of my car are too extensive to use media blasting. You just couldn't get behind all the pillers etc. I have found a place in Arlington, Texas that does chemical stripping. I spoke to thier representative on the phone today and I am leaning...

    Brake line removal

That was exactly right. I was squeezing instead of spreading. I ended up squeezing from the interior and they popped right out. Thanks

    Sixth (?) time's a charm

Something fishy here as far as the bids go. The bid went from 14,999 a guy named winglow. Then two bids from the same guy mlclcoats8ht9. 19,501 and then 24,999 ?? Mosesatm "Arlie" and myself went to look at this car over the weekend. To be generous the car has some issues. We believe the...

    Brake line removal

Can anyone tell me if there is an easy way to remove these clips? I tried squeezing the prongs and that didn't appear to do it. The clip for the fuel line ended up popping out of the body leaving a slightly bent out hole. Thanks Bill

    Wiring Harness

"Since you're in there....in the rear quarter, could you get a look at the wiring harness running by at the bottom--and see if there is a little connector on the harness for a pigtail plug? I saw one on mine once, and wondered if it was an in-line connector for those rear quarter courtesy...

    How about a services directory?

Buyer beware is certainly at the top of this list. To assure the integrity of a reference base such as this on the site I would think it very difficult to restrict this from shady/not top notch operators. In my opinion even though you may lose some very good advise regarding vendors from the...

    Windshield Moulding

Thanks Arlie, I'll take you up on that offer. I'll give you a call this evening.

    Chemical dipping/stripping

Has any of you had any experiences or heard (through trusted sources) good/bad things regarding chemical dipping to remove all the rust from my car? I am almost to the point where I will have to make the move. Chemical stripping verses blasting /sandpaper. I haven't found anyplace locally...

    1/4 window removal

I'm stumped on this one too. More specifically I don't know where to start. Both the rear 1/4 window regulators don't work. I didn't want to just start tearing it up in the hopes it might be a easy fix to get them operational before reassembling the car. As always Thanks everyone Bill

    Windshield Moulding

Hey y'all, I started removing the brightmetal mouldings surrounding the windshield and backlight today and was stumped. I was able to remove the side mouldings and the top backlight. Is there a secret to removing the upper and lower windshield and lower backlight mouldings without tearing them...

Ebay Cluch and Brake Pedal Assembly from California Special!

He sounds like a very angry man. I believe I would have just let that one go under the circumstances.

    Scam

This new scam is being perpetrated mainly on older men. What happens is that when you stop for a red light a young, nude woman comes up and pretends to be washing your windshield. While she is doing this another person opens your back door and steals anything in the car. They are very good at...

    Rocker Molding Clips, again

Paul, I havn't removed the clips from my car yet. This is what the original clips look like. They all appear to be the same, five per side. Hope this helps. Your car is looking great! Bill

    Paul's 96 Registry on Ebay

I for one am one of those guys who would love to have the $200 dollar versions of Pauls first two books. If only I had the budget. I think $45 would be a very fair price for your new book Paul. Will you sign and number mine too? Patiently waiting....... Almost! Bill

68 GT Coupe and 68 GT/CS Diecast Model

My vote is for a blue one too. Royal Maroon is OK.... I guess. lol I think it's a great way to increase the public awareness of our cars. I would be very interested to know what extent they measure your car. Pauls story of them reproducing an aftermarket radio in scale is a crack up...

    Registry

I have added my name and car to the registry recently. Could someone check mine out also. I hadn't thought about it before but it may be a way to find and contact the original owner. 8R01C148776 Thanks Bill

    Rocker Panel Molding Clips

The front of the moulding is secured with a bolt and nut. Shown in first picture. The snap on clips are arranged five per side. Each clip is 12 3/4" apart (give or take an 1/8") and on both sides the clip closest to the rear wheel opening has the top rivet 2 1/2" forward of the opening...
