. Oak Bay Collector Car Show in Victoria, B.C. Canada

Well, the Mustang got a free "car wash" at the Oak Bay Collector Car Show on Oak Bay Avenue yesterday morning! Things started off just little a bit "damp" to say the least, but it cleared up by about noon and everyone got out their chamois cloths ... Another good show this year with over 200...

For Sale GT/CS on Barrett-Jackson Reno

Yep ... I was fairly surprised too since the auctioneers were really working hard to get anyone to pay more than$15,000 to $20,000 for other much nicer looking cars that were up for auction! There was a low mileage '94 Mustang Cobra in yellow that looked to be very nice and they really...

    . Rupp family car show

Nice job Marty! A great looking line of cars and trucks with a wonderful variety of models and years too! (And I have to admit that I've ALWAYS loved those little mid-60's Falcon Ranchero models ... talk about classic lines!)

    1968 '68 radio installation question ...

Found one! OK, I found one! I sent out a bunch of emails to various Canadian and US Mustang & Cougar parts breakers near and far and darned if I didn't get a response from a Canadian new and used parts supplier just over on the BC mainland! (We're over on Vancouver Island a short ferry ride...

    1968 '68 radio installation question ...

Well, you snooze you lose ... I was going to bite the bullet and buy the used bezel that was listed on eBay at $130.00 and of course someone else already bought it. The other used one is still on the WCCC site, but with shipping to Canada it would be over $200.00. I guess I'll poke around...

    1968 '68 radio installation question ...

Funny my eBay search last night didn't bring up the one listed on there? Just need the faceplate, not the rear bracket (thank goodness), but my they are very pricey aren't they? $165.00 to $225.00 for just the faceplate ... wow ... and nobody is making a reproduction of that part either ...

    1968 '68 radio installation question ...

Any spares out there? OK, looks like this might be tougher than I thought! Apparently these radio console brackets are tough to find unaltered and they don't make a repro of that particular part, so if anyone has a spare they'd be willing to part with I definitely need one. I just checked...

    1968 '68 radio installation question ...

Found the problem today ... OK ... problem now determined (but not quite yet corrected) ... My mechanic buddy Chris just came over and took it all apart again for a much closer look. The mounting bracket is the correct part (C8ZB-6504567-A), but a PO did alter it after all! To fit a newer...

    1968 '68 radio installation question ...

The other thing that we were wondering about is if this is the correct metal mounting bracket? What is the correct part number for the metal mounting bracket we should be using in case this one has been modified and we need to replace it with a new one? I'd want to be sure that we got the...

    1968 '68 radio installation question ...

Another possibility too ... I guess we'd better check the part number on the backing plate I have too just in case it's the wrong backing plate for the application? What is the correct factory Ford part number for the radio backing plate for a '68 Mustang console?

    1968 '68 radio installation question ...

Hmmmm ... The width of the radio shafts can be adjusted? Any suggestions on how we would go about doing that? That just might cure a bunch of the problem, plus we'll double check the backing plate to see if it has been altered or not in case that is part of the problem too. Haven't had a...

    1968 '68 radio installation question ...

Well, hopefully one of the "pros" on this site (maybe Neil or Ron or Marty?) can answer this one for me! Up here in Canada we can get "collector plates" on older vehicles which allow us to insure the car for the entire year at a very much reduced cost. The vehicle must be basically "factory...
