    For Sale J-Code 4 speed

Nice looking car. This is a desirable combination (J code and 4spd). I would expect that there are interested individuals out there. As someone that has a modified HCS, I have to agree that to get top dollar, stock/originality is key with these cars. When I go to sell mine, I will be...

1968 Need help - Brake Question

Thanks again everyone for all the help and advice. After checking out the master cylinder, hoses, line connections and wheel cylinders, I have come to the conclusion that I have LOTS of little leaks. I am planning to replace the rear hose with the junction box, the rear lines, and one wheel...

1968 Need help - Brake Question

Tom, thanks for the picture. I looked closer and it appears there are a couple little cracks in the hose right before the junction block. Looks like the hose and junction are relatively inexpensive. The rest of the lines look pretty good, but I have no idea when they were replaced (or if they...

1968 Need help - Brake Question

Took a quick look under the rear. So what is the hose going into the axle do? This appears to be my problem. I had cleaned my rear diff really well about a year ago. What a mess. I still need to pull the wheels and look at the rear drums more closely. Thanks for the advice. david

1968 Need help - Brake Question

Last weekend I pulled the HCS out of storage. It had been sitting since late Oct. Other than adding STA-BIL to the gas and overinflating the tires, I did not touch the car the entire time it was in storage. Started the car up and the brake pedal went from being firm before storage to going...

    . 67 289 Engine tag - who wants it?

I am working on getting the car ready for spring and racing season. Going through some old parts and stuff, I found a 1967 289 C code engine tag. I have no idea where this came from or why I have not noticed it before. Info is: 289 C 67 1 6-H 231-A If I have read it right...

    1968 Kind of a new owner ...

Congrats on the car. Post some pictures when you get a chance. Also, check the 5th digit in on the vin. C = 289, J = 302. Washington to Colorado, sounds like a nice trip. Where in Colorado are you? david

    1968 Purists don't look

Can't wait to see it when you are done, sound pretty cool. Personally, with a six speed, I would be running taller gears (3:73 or 4:10's). Much better off the line and you will still be running low RPM's at highway speeds with the OD. Good luck and have fun. David

    1968 Headers

I have the two piece super comp's in my HCS. They were the only ones I could find for a 351W conversion. Clearance is fine, but I can't get rid of the exhaust leaks where they come together. I have used high temp gasket sealer over and over again.

    1968 Barrett-Jackson

Rob, I believe it was a one year car, built by McLaren. Little over 500 produced. Under 5 second 0-60 - in comfort. david

    1968 Barrett-Jackson

How about a 1987 Buick GNX selling at BJ this year for, get this, $104,500. Sure, it was a 1200 mile time capsule, but come on. Guess cars of the 80's and up are starting to appreciate. Late 70's and up Trans Ams seem to be getting decent money. Go figure. Sven, good luck with your car. david

    1968 Mecum Auction Results

There is a guy out here in Colorado (owns a mustang parts store) that built a CS tribute fastback and convertible. Saw them at a car show a couple years ago, should have taken pictures. I thought they looked pretty good. david

1968 Looking for Holly carb or will hit Jegs\ Summit

I down graded from a 750 to a 700 double pumper on my 393 stroker. Have not raced yet this year, so not sure what the results will be. Obviously I am expecting it be be faster. 600 seems awfully small for a 390, hope it works out for you Paul. I think I have posted this before, but when I...

ADMIN New Feature: Search members by state

I figured it out. In everyone's user control panel - additional info section, there is a field that asks for city and state and another field that asks for state. Nice feature, we all just need to double check how we filled out those sections. david
