If anyone is interested, the Nov 2006 issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines has an article on the 1968 Cougar GT-E. David

    Engine Repair Question

Arlie, check out http://www.heartlandenginebuilders.com/ This is who I purchased my 393 stroker from via the internet. Feel free to PM me and I can give you more details about them and purchasing from a non local engine builder. David

    Engine Repair Question

I have pulled my tranny and run my engine. It might depend on the type or year or your transmission. I have a C4 and had to unbolt and leave the bellhousing on so that the starter could be used. I had a similar situation trying to diagnose a rattle. I was sure it was the flexplate, turned...

Mine weighed in at 2,900 last year during race season. Most drag strips have a weight station. david

    How many have a 331 or 347?

Jeff, I pulled my 302 and went with a 393 stroker. No substitute for cubic inches! Converting to a Windsor block was pretty easy, bolts right in. Main issue is dealing with PS, Alternator and Headers. All easily surmountable. Good luck and enjoy your new engine! david

Nice article on the Green Hornet

Seems it did not go up for auction. Carroll Shelby was there though (helping sell what used to be his personal 427 Cobra...$5.5M). When I had the opportunity to speak with him at the Shelby Museum over Christmas, I mentioned that the Green Hornet was going to be sold at BJ. He said he was not...

New Registry Info: How many cars per state (& Country)

Interesting stuff. I am in Colorado and am SHOCKED that there are 43. These are only 68's right, no 66 or 67 HCS's? Bob and other Coloradians, sounds like we need to have our own local BBQ and get together!! david

Preferred way to restore engine bay?

I went the media blast way when I pulled my engine. Very happy with the results. You need to keep in mind that if you do have the engine compartment media blasted, you never know what you might find (previously repaired damage, rust, etc) and repairs could add up. Good luck with which ever...

Dare I ask? Post Photos of ourselves?

Me and my new best friend! That is me on the right, the short one. Got to meet Carroll Shelby last night at a Holiday party to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Shelby American Collection Museum in Boulder, Co.

need help finding a center console!!

I gave up looking for one based upon the same reasons Arlie mentioned in his response. There are quite a lot of individual pieces. You will also need longer radio knobs, which I do not believe are reproduced either. david

    Wiring Harness needed

There is a Mustang shop in Denver called Colorado Mustang Specialists (303 343-7024). Dan, the owner, has one of the largest, if not the largest, Mustang wrecking yards. I purchased a decent used one for around $150. When you call ask for Pat (5280 GTCS). david

Whose 390 CS is this on Ebay?

The Shelby's had a similar cluster (w/ 140MPH speedo) but had guages in the console to offset the warning lights for oil pressure, etc. Was anything done for oil pressure on the non Shelby cars with tach's? Seems dangerous not having an oil pressure gauge. david

Underfloor painted car color in lieu of red oxyde primer??

I just re-did my interior, replacing the carpet, seat covers, dash, etc. My car is candyapple red. I am not the original owner, but everything appeared original. Hope this helps. BTW, I have no idea what the 5 on the floor pan represents. david

    DRAG RACING GT/CS's

I built mine to race at Bandimere Raceway in Denver, CO. It is a HCS with a 351W stroked to 393. Not been to the dyno yet, but expecting that it is putting out about 450HP and 500LBS of torque at the flywheel. Still working on the set up, but I expect it to easily run in the 13's at our high...
