ADMIN New forum software upgrade in the works - looking for beta testers

I'm happy to announce that I'm in the process of upgrading to a new forum software. The current vBulletin software is way past end of life. It has been extremely stable and has served this forum well for 18 years :o , but it's more than past time to upgrade. I am upgrading to XenForo software...

    1968 Mercury Cougar GT-E XR-7 4-Speed

Amazing car! I had a '67 Cougar XR-7 GT-390 for several years, but the GT-E has always been one of my top dream cars. It's a highly optioned and desirable car, but I'm still surprised that $165,000 didn't meet the reserve.

Events Forum out of date by 7 years

Thanks Scott. It's fixed now. But the fact that you're the first one to bring it up in 7 years tells you how little people use it.

1968 Tip for painting gauge needles

I worked on freshening up my instrument gauge this weekend. I had planned on getting some Testors model paint in the correct fluorescent orange (red?) but couldn't find any at my local hobby shop. But I did find an orange Sharpie paint pen. It ended up being an almost identical match, at least...

    1968 Registry

Once you submit the initial info your VIN is in the registry, so it then will not let you do it again. Below is the info that was entered. Send me a PM or email and let me know what needs to be changed and I'll edit it manually on my end...

    SOLD Original Marchals

Agreed. That's a scammer and I've banned the account. Good instincts Jason to google the email address first to check. It's become a common scam to post something like: "my friend has *insert part name here* and you can reach him at *insert scammer email here*" Luckily CS.com hasn't been hit...

    1968 Getting some rare option

That's great! Thanks for sharing and please post a photo once it's installed. As a 16 yr old my first car was a '68 coupe (not the HCS I have now) and the very first modification I did to it was add a rear defroster. I ordered it out of the JC Whitney catalog and waited 3 weeks for my check to...

For Sale 1967 HCS project, fastback, 390-4V, Marti Report

I saw that. I don't think we've ever seen that breakdown between coupes, convertibles and fastbacks. If we can find a Marti report on a 67 HCS couple or convertible we'd have those 3 numbers.

For Sale 1967 HCS project, fastback, 390-4V, Marti Report

Looks like a true 1967 HCS big block fastback based on the Marti Report. I guess I haven't seen many '67 HCS Marti reports. I didn't realize that Marti specifically called out the High Country Special package in 1967. I think the seller's price is maybe a *tad* too high at $32,000. :)...
