    1968 Inside Rear View Mirror

Ditto to Rob's thanks! I just had to reattach my rear view mirror this weekend and remembered this helpful thread.

1968 Brakes are really slowing down my progress on the HCS

Excellent Rob! Thanks so much. Cool video. My carb sounds much better on that test Mustang than it does on mine.

1968 Brakes are really slowing down my progress on the HCS

Weekend #3. I got the rear brakes rebuilt. New wheel cylinders, hardware, shoes and rubber line. I had to fight a couple of steel break lines that didn't want to thread in, but took a break and when I came back they went in without much more trouble, and more importantly no cross threading! Oh...

    1968 Turning 50

I was just cleaning out my glove box and found the original bill of sale from when I bought my HCS from the original owner. Date was 7/13/95, just 10 days after it's birthday! He owned it for it's first 27 years and now I've owned it for 23. Hard to say which of us let is sit unused the...

    1968 Console Removal

Ditto. My 72 Bronco lost all oil pressure way out in the desert during a camping trip. Got it towed home and found the oil pump rod twisted and snapped in two. Pieces of plastic coating from the timing gear had fallen off and got sucked up into the oil pump and jammed it.

1968 Brakes are really slowing down my progress on the HCS

Weekend #2 working on the HCS brakes and I made a lot more progress. The right front caliper was not getting any fluid from the bleeder screw. I checked both the hard line and hose and both allowed fluid to flow. It was the caliper that appeared to be the culprit. So I replaced calipers and...

    1968 Passenger side scoop

Sorry Ed. I don't have one. But I now have this image in my head of your dog running head first into the side of your Mustang and shattering the scoop!

1968 Brakes are really slowing down my progress on the HCS

Thanks Marty. I have not changed the hoses yet, but have all 3 on order (2 front, 1 rear). On the passenger front, when the hose it disconnected at the caliper I do get fluid out of the hose. I thought once the piston moved over in the block it stopped the flow. Maybe I'm reading this diagram...

1968 Brakes are really slowing down my progress on the HCS

I finally had a chance to spend most of the day working on my 68 HCS, but unfortunately I didn't get very far. I spent the whole time on brakes and at the end of the day I can only get my driver's front bleeder to bleed. The rest I can't get any fluid out of. On my passenger front (factory...

    . Fabulous Fords Forever 2018

Is anyone planning on going to Fab Fords this year? (at Knotts Berry Farm, Buena Park CA) I just registered my HCS. It's risky and I'm not sure what people will think since it's in really rough shape, rust and all. And it will look even worse sitting next to perfectly restored examples! But I...

    1968 California Special Registry

I'll just echo everyone else's comments about how great a job Mike did. Thank you Mike so much for the time you put into being Registrar and the hobby in general. We all very much appreciate it!

IT'S ALIVE! My '68 HCS is one step closer to being on the road again.

Not entirely sure of my ultimate plans for the HCS. Part of what's kept me from working on it is a bit of "big picture paralysis". A full resto is such an enormous job that it's tough to get started. So for now I'm just going to focus on getting it road worthy with my goal to bring it to Fab...

IT'S ALIVE! My '68 HCS is one step closer to being on the road again.

Yes, I had drained and cleaned out the tank before, along with a new filter. Pump seems OK for now. Thank you Rob. Very generous as always. I may take you up on that offer. I'll send you a PM.

IT'S ALIVE! My '68 HCS is one step closer to being on the road again.

I was able to dust off the cob webs a bit today. Brief wash and vacuum. It was out in the driveway for maybe 2 hours and 4 different people stopped by to talk about it. One asking if I wanted to sell. I forgot how often that happens.

    My HCS is a young'en. It won't turn 50 until July 3rd.

IT'S ALIVE! My '68 HCS is one step closer to being on the road again.

My '68 HCS moved under it's own power today for the first time in more than a decade! It's not road worthy yet, but I backed it out of the side yard and into the garage, where I can hopefully get some real work done on her. I got the engine running 3 years ago (here's that thread) but then my...

Glad it arrived finally Jim. I don't understand why yours took so long, but it's been a challenging mailing season all around.
