    Battery boil over

Thank you folks for your replys. I will answer your questions the best that I can. I have been using distilled water and I fill the cells just above the plates, (ring). It seems to boil one cell more then the others. I have not checked the voltage while driving, other then the dash gauge, and...

    Battery boil over

Does anyone else have a problem with their battery boiling over? Surely it can't be only ours, considering the number of patch panels I see being replaced and holes rusted ( eaten ) through under the battery tray. I have replaced the altenator, two batteries, tried the old style voltage...

The New Registry Book: Which type of binding?

Paul, my preference would be options #1 & #3 with # 3 being 1st. Personally I'm not fond of the coil binding, but I'll go with the majority. The slip cases would be a nice touch. Dave

    Marti Report

Hi Donna, That's what I thought casey might have been referring too, and I didn't get one with my report so needless to say I had to check it out. I think Paul may be in the process of producing a revised one soon, or when he publishes his new book, so I guess we will get one then. Dave

    Marti Report

Thank's Casey, I have the original window sticker that came on our car, and I received a copy with my report aswell. When you mentioned STICKER, my thoughts started to race and I thought that I had missed out on some elusive GT/CS sticker or something. Take care, Dave

    Marchal guys..........bend over........ouch

Thank you Steve & Doug, I'll do a check through the connections again and if that doesn't take care of the overloading problem, I will look at changing over to the incandescent bulb. Thanks again, Dave

    Marchal guys..........bend over........ouch

Thank you Doug for the information. What bulbs are you using in your lights? I have the halogen bulbs in my Marchals and they tripped out the relay after they had been on about 10-15 minutes. I've only tried them once since then, and when the fog light switch plug started to get warm I shut...

    Marchal guys..........bend over........ouch

Hi folks, I said that I stand to be corrected on the mounting of 653's and I am going to correct myself. I was looking at a set of Marchal 653's on ebay, item 4587230317, and there are some good shots of the mounting bolts, and from these photos it looks like there would be no problem to mount...

    GT/CS Trunk Lids uneven ??

What is the recommended adhesive for glueing the panel back to the frame. My panel is seperating and it seems to be bowing more on the passenger side. This may solve the problem.

    Marchal guys..........bend over........ouch

I'm going to wade in on this one, and I stand to be corrected. I think that the 653's are designed to mount the same way as the Lucas lights or upside down under the bumper. The mounting bolt on the 656's has more adjustment which allows the light to be mounted in the grille. I belive that if...

    Back Seat/Trunk Separation Material

I installed the metal barrier in ours four or five years ago but I was also looking at the wed page of The Antrock Mustang Stable and they also have an interesting tank protector. You can see the TANK ARMOR on their site, www.tankarmor.com and they are located in Arizona. They show how to...

    Engine VIN Number

Casey, the only '68, 289 cars with serialized engines that I have seen so far, has had 302 cast into the valley of the block. That's only what I've observed mind you, and I haven't had occasion to seen a large number of 289's with the 302 block. Paul, if your sending out engine dressup...

    Engine VIN Number

Casey, is there an engine size cast in the valley of your block, ie 289 or 302? Mine is a 289 and has the serial number stamped in the block, but has the 302 cast into the valley of the block. Apparently it was common for ford to use the 302 block with the 289 heads, 2bbl intake manifold as...

New LED taillights for California Special

Don, I have my LED's installed now and it seems to have taken care of the dimming problem I was having with the dash lights. I mentioned in an earlier post that whenever I applied the brakes, the dash lights would dim. I was contributing this to the current draw from the six bulbs. I...

    Why I drive my GT/CS

Boy, do all these comments sound familiar. We have traveled all over Eastern Canada and through most of the New England States since we completed our CS. As long as we are driving we get the thumbs up but, as soon as we stop for gas or a break, we know that we are going to be there for...

    Fired up my GT/CS

Sarge, I don't know if you've spoken with the folks at Mustang Projects yet, but if you go to their web page mustangproject.com, click on FREE STUFF. When you get to that page, scroll down to How to install Mustang Project LED seqential taillights - shelby-standard 67-68. When you click on...

To Shroud or not to Shroud?

Hello Hook, ours still has the shroud, and I am led to believe that all a/c equipted cars were required to have a shroud. The fan on our 289, is the non clutch, non flex, five blade with a spacer, which I've noticed on other 289's with air. If ours didn't already have a shroud, a/c or not, I...
